    Talking Not in Texas

    A father watched his daughter playing in the garden.
    He smiled as he reflected on how sweet
    and innocent his little girl was.
    Suddenly she just stopped and stared at the ground.
    He went over to her and noticed she was looking at two spiders mating.
    "Daddy, what are those two spiders doing?" she asked.
    "They're mating," her father replied. "What do you call the spider on top, Daddy?" she asked. "That's a Daddy Longlegs." Her father answered.
    "So, the other one is Mommy Longlegs?" the little girl asked.
    "No," her father replied. "Both of them are Daddy Longlegs."
    The little girl thought for a moment, then took her foot and stomped
    them
    flat. "Well, it might be OK in California and Oregon, BUT we're not
    having ANY of that **** in Texas"

    I'll give you that....and as long as you always refer to "east Texas" as being kind of backwards as opposed to all of Texas in general, you'll never hear me rant about it again either.

    Have ya'll forgotten about West Texas?? Just as backwards, if not even more so... **** Bible Belt of America... no alcohol sales inside the city limits?????? No Hooters????

    What is the area with the beer stores in Lubbock called? If I remember (remember I'm an old fart) it's called "the strip" or something like that. Lots of memories.

    West Texas isn't that bad....not all of the hillbillies and such that East Texas has. West Texas has more tolerance for diversity as well...i.e. homosexuality, different ethnic backgrounds, etc.

    Yeah it's the "Strip"...aka Mini Vegas... as for tolerance... yes for ethnic groups, but no they are not tolerant of homosexuality here at all
