Road Rage
I was driving to work this morning and approached a roundabout went round it when this little car from nowhere cuts me up.I,m in a good mood so I keep my cool but then this guy slams his breaks on and starts to make gestures after 30 secs of this I,ve lost it and pull my car onto the pavement and take my seat belt off.
Anyway the guy races off and I follow him for about 4 miles on M/way type road and he is about 3 cars in front of me I catch up with him and he pulls over and I drive past. When I look in the rear view mirror he,s calling me a wa***er.I pull across both lanes onto the slip road and stop and indicate that he does the same which he does about 20ft in front of me.I get out and he gets out and we have a shouting match at one another and I really wanted to hit him and stick his head throught the side of my car but thought no it isn,t worth it I,ll only have to replace another dented panel
So I,m about 3 " from his face shouting and so is he and then other cars start to pull alongside us.He walks off and says he,ll report it to the police where as I reply you can do what ever you like.
It wasn,t that he cut me up it happens and the road is very poorly marked out so I don,t care about it.The fact that annoyed me was this person I,ve never met before felt he had the right to call me every name under the sun for his own mistake.
Think it made me realise how quick little things can wind you up normally I,ll hoot and that is it but this bloke really wound me up and how easily things spiral out of control.
Maybe women are better drivers!!
Ah well at least my PC is working again

I would have beat the living sh** out of him. Somebody wants to be tough, I'll show them what tough is. Its all about respect, and this guy obviously had none. People walk around, avoiding eye contact and rarely even say excuse me anymore. But when they get in their car, suddenly they feel like they have a 2 ton shield around them.
Here is a fact. If you give someone power, they will use it, no matter what they say. You give someone a licence to kill, even if he's a Buddist, in a few weeks he'll be taking people out. Thats why I commend people like Billy Boy. You were the bigger man. If it was me, I would have used power to teach a lesson in respect. Real power is knowing that you can, but don't. Good job.

Way to go Billy, not sure If I could have kept my composure in the same situation,<img src=http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smileys/contrib/ruinkai/spanka.gif> but road rage really gets to me. I'm the most passive guy in the world, but tailgate me motherf@@ker and your gonna eat taillights! I swear some of these drivers are completely oblivious as to what's going on around them. Nothing like a zoomed in view of the back end of my car to wake them up.

Thanks guys but I was secretly hoping I would meet him on the road again this morning.
Done and dusted , I,m sure it will happen again someday
And I agree with you guys had it been a couple of years ago I would have been charged with ABH or GBH but in all honesty the f***er wasn,t worth it.You don,t get any satisfaction beating the weaker man.
BA I remember us talking about this LOL

yeah I seem to see more of more of these wierd people. they make mistakes and think your at fault.
you did good billy, even though the urge to tie him in a bow and toss him into the nearby creek seems too good to pass up

I know it is tough Billy. People forget to be curious drivers. Good job on controlling yourself it is hard to do. I believe you are into MA that shows you have learned well. First you talk, then walk, then you stand and build you wall. Something I live by.
BTW i always say thank you and please. Just good manners. I teach my kids the same. I hope everyone on this board looks into a persons eyes. If a man or woman can not look me in the eyes they are not truthful. Without truth you have no character.

Good points there Ironweb I hate it when kids say "I want" if mine say that they don,t get!
Manners seem to be a thing of the past and how kids speak to adults amazes me there is no respect there anymore. If I had spoken to an adult the way the kids do today my old man would have kicked us into the middle of next week!
Ah how times change LOL

Kids do not seem to have manners or respect these days. The sure want it tho. When I started out in college I was going to be a teacher. But dealing with kids and the disrespect that they give to adults made me change my mind and go into business.

In Texas, you start shit on the road and someone pulls agun out and shoots you. Happened just the other week, and the guy got off.
I get road rage pretty bad sometimes. I don't know about anywhere else but Houston drivers piss me off.
LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET THE FUCK OUT THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rudeness - Man I wish I had more patience with it. Since I got my crew cab 1 ton 4X4 pickup with a rather large grille gaurd on the front of it, people don't act as stupid as they used to when I am driving. Seems like they have a little more courtesy???
Being a small town boy, I too was raised with manners. But here lately I have noticed that when I open a door for people at the stores or look people in the eye and ask "How ya doing?" they just walk right by and don't even say one word!!?? WTF??!! Man that really gets me. I think I am going to start saying back "You are welcome ASSHOLE!!" or "I am fine today dickhead, thanks for asking!!" Nothing irritates me quicker than rude and stupid people.
peace,
ttgb
