Thread: Injection question

Guys I have injected 5 times now and 3 of the 5 went painless, however the other two were bad, one was in my glute and the other in my thigh. When I put the needle in I feel an immediate ache, hurts to have the needle in!
Then shortly after the friggin muscle hurts.
Am I grazing a nerve?
Not a pain but an ache.

I'm using 23g/1"
I think I may have gone to high on the glute

Heres a tip
When I inject in the thigh, I first take the needle and just slightly poke around the skin until I feel a spot that dosent hurt at all, most likely there are less nerves here. I inject and it goes good. But if it hurts bad as soon as the needle breaks the skin i inject soemwhere else.

the glute never hurt for me, quad hurt a bit...i started in one area, but it felt a bit painful so stopped and did another spot like chuck said, i found partly the prob was i was soo slow at my 1st injections i.e. id take ages to actually get it in thus making the initial pain of getting it in longer

You should be using a 1 1/2 ins needle if you are injecting in the glute. Try to hit the top outer area of the glute. There is more muscle there and it is away from major nerves.
