You being a type I diabetic can be to your advantage. Which types of insulins are you using now? If you're using only real long-acting insulin (like lantus), then it really can't be used to your advantage, but if you're using a long-acting insulin in addition to Humalog to fine tune your BG, then dosing and timing the Humalog to better cater to anabolism/anticatabolism can be accomplished. It's not as much the quantity as it is the timing of the insulin, and your dietary intake after injection.

the insulins i use are HUMALOG and NPH or also known as N insulin .
i eat healthy food, in quite high proportions. high carb, high protein kinda thing.
before meals humalog is taken, meanwhile N insulin is taken in the morning and before bed. N works from 3-12 hours in length. humalog being short, finishing its work in relativly 3 hours.
what kinda foods should be taken at meals, since insulin is always in me.
i eat at least every 3 hours, snacks and all. for optimum blood sugar control. i have also been using creatine for about 3 months, and am gettin some good mass results. currently 5'11'' 200 pounds. before increased insulin doses, and before i started creatine, i was about 188.. 12 pound gain in 3 months.
i also, sometimes take an additional injection of humalog mid afternoon, if i am hungry or wont be exercising much.
    humalog and N @ 7:30 am
humalog sometimes in early afternoon before workouts @ 1:30-ish
    humalog @ supper
    N @ bed

i want good results. aNY TIPS?
    thanks!

The AM injection is good to suppress cortisol-mediated catabolism. The most important time for insulin (preferably Humalog) is post w/o. Go to the GH/IGF-1/insulin forum. Your situation, in that regard, isn't any different than a nondiabtetic.

so an extra shot of humalog before a workout is a good idea..yes?
juices or foods must also be taken in at that time.
i dont understand some of the catabolism and insulin forum stuff though, i really couldn't tell ya that i know what your talking about when ya say that?

would this setup be a good one:
    pre-breakfast injection (7:30) HUMALOG + N INSULIN
    PRE-WORKOUT (1:30) HUMALOG
    Pre-supper HUMALOG
    Pre-bedtime N INSULIN

    sounds good?
