Stupid early morning injection mistake.....

Ok, so I had to wake up early (for me anyway) this morning to get ready to go out of town. I was supposed to do a shot tomorrow, but decided to do it today since Ill be back before I have to do my next shot. Anyway, I guess I was still kind of asleep when I injected....I didnt make it into the glute muscle itself but nearly right above the hip bone (not the pelvis, lol). I aspirated and got no blood...injected 1cc of TE...pulled out and got a river of nice oxygenated blood. No biggie...happens from time to time, but as Im wiping the blood clean I notice a lump where I shot. I feel around and realize I ****!ng missed my glute.

So now I have a cc of test sitting about 1.5" under my skin and fat, but not in muscle. I can god**** feel it! Its maybe even kind of hard to the touch.

Here's the Q for the old timers.....was this a wasted shot or will it absorb?

It will absorb in time but you also run a good chance of it turning into a abcess......... Keep heat on it to help it out.

Yeah, Muds dead on. Hopefully it will absorb. It will take longer, but it's better than an abcess.....

Cuh-rist! That all I need is an abcess! And going out of town like I am, I wont be able to put heat on it. Mud, what do you think the chances are that I will abcess? And about how much longer will it take to absorb? Should I do my next shot sooner?

The irony is that its harder for me to reach back there to shoot properly because of my size. There is now a nice bruise around the inj site too!

Im going to lose my mind if this abcesses.

Maybe if you get one of those stick-on chemical reaction heat pads, bro. You can wear it under your clothes.

Yeah, they first made them for women's cramps (the fiance uses them - not me!), and I believe they'vea dapted them for unisex lower back pain.

if you can't use heat bro make sure to rub the **** out of it as much as you can... i did that once and it started to get really sore, then i just bit the bullet and massaged it as hard as i could as often as i could and it eventually went away....

Or hit a vet supply store (online) and start some antibiotics if symptoms arise.

Update...

Well, later that night I looked at it before going into the shower...I had been sitting for 7 or so hours driving. There was a 3" round bruise, nearly solid black. It didnt hurt more than earlier, actually a bit less. The next day the swelling was nearly gone and today its still bruised, but no signs of swelling.

Id say Im in the clear, and have another shot to do Tuesday. Only this time Ill shoot my glute shot in my freakin glute.

Honestly, mine looked worse...but smaller. The bruise was a solid black oval. Kina freaky.

And for the record....I always thought you were white MBH! I never imagined a black dude would represent thata way. That is in no way intended to sound negative. I just read people well I guess........
