Most liver protecting herbs and vitamins are on a GNC shelf for $2-$6. None of them are gonna be Ultra Protecting. They are just herbs. Using an AAS and taking Milk Thistle is like using a bullet proof vest against an M-16. It may lower the damage but it is gonna be far from stopping it.
If they were very powerful they would be pharmaceutical not $6.00. An example is Niacin, Niacin is very effective at raising HDL in very high doses, that why there are pharmaceutical grade Niacin doses.

Milk Thistle,
OTC and Europeans have been using the stuff for years to treat alcoholics for cirossis of the liver (yes prescribed by docs) it isn't an RX because it is a natural herb not a patent medecine and drug companies can't make any money from it.

out of curiosity, what oral steroid are you running?
if it is just anavar as your current cycle indicates, you need not worry TOO much about liver protection. anavar is extremely mild on the liver compared with the other orals, and is even given to recovering alcoholics to help them gain muscle mass. a good supplementation of milk thistle, ALA, or tyler's liver detox would probably be more than enough. i have seen many lab tests that people on EF posted when they had their liver values checked on anavar and i had never once seen a dangerous or even slightly dangerous elevated liver value - even without using liver protectants. if i were you and were running anavar, i would be more concerned about the effects on your lipid profile. to take care of this, take policosanol (to keep your ateries nice n clean!). ALA/MilkThistle/Tyler's along with policosanol are the only ancillaries you need when you run anavar (assuming that is the oral you are talking about). and oh yeah, don't forget the creatine...

As for this thread, ALA in concert with milk thistle should be cheap enough for anybody that can afford to run var! If you want a little extra, use the tyler's or Liv 52.
