From bfm2 @ MuscleSci:
"As long as you tap it and get most of the air out, you will be fine. A little air intramusculary won't hurt you. According to the USH2 by Dan Ducaine, it supposedly takes about 10ccs of air injected into a blood vessel to kill you. I wonder how the hell they figured that one out."
Hope that helps bro...

if you put air into a vien you will have a stroke within seconds its really cool to watch but i dont advise it. NO DONT LEAVE AIR IN THE NEEDLE ARE YOU CRAZY! It will act as a clot because it will have nowhere to go.
10cc of air or .1cc it will all do the same. you wanna prove me wrong you go right ahead

contrary to what people have learned from watching tv nursing students such as myself are taught to leave at least a .1cc air bubble for an intramuscular injection. this acts as cap to keep the medicine from coming back out and it helps disperse the medication. that is why u must always aspirate because air into a vein or artery can kill you but it is a necessity for an im injection.
