I have always done B12 injections I.M. My Girlfriend started to do it Subcutaneous, got the needle in (a 1ml TB Syringe) and it started burning real bad. She only got about 0.1cc in her and withdrew the needle. She got a pea size black and blue bruise at injection site. She read on the internet that you can do B12 injections subcutaneous. Is this not true?
Yes it can be done, however, IM is preferred.

While on the subject of subq, i just got my b12 today and i dont remember if the doc said, once a day? or should i take it maybe once every 3 days, he says 1000mcg...
also if i want to do it subq, what size of needle/what kind of needle do i ask for from the pharmacy, i think the pharmacist gave me 3ml 23g1 but a friend told me that was for IM and it would kill and not for subq,.. im new to this pin stuff :(
No I use Vet Grade but I am an animal LOL
this is the problem with vet grade ....Human usp shouldn't sting at all ...I uses a mexi brand that did sting ......My wife and I do sub -q every day. When Im on I just mix it in with the daily injection.....
emplate there is know toxic level every day to get good results...insulin pin for sub-q just pinch an inch and stick it ..I like the stomac painless
what size of insulin pin do i ask for?
