    Having sex/jacking off affects your gains/strength?

    I once read in a sports magazine long time ago (don't quote me on this) that the majority of coaches during the Olympic games discouraged their athletes from having sex 48 hours prior to their game/show(whatever) because it can negatively impact their performance. Is that a bunch of bull or is there any truth behind it? If so, wondering how that could affect gains and strength during training. Hopefully there will be only 1 or 2 flames from this post!

    I've heard that too much ejaculating can lower serum test levels, as to wether this will make a big enough impact to effect gains, no one knows. If it did, does it really matter?

    Didn't your mom ever tell you that spanking the monkey will make you go blind anyways? Sheesh...

    I know this has been asked a thousand times, just wanted to be the first to point it out.

    it's a myth that was used in the 1950's and 60's to keep athletes from partying the night before competition or a game. i've never seen a study prove it otherwise.

    It may affect you if you have sex 50 times before working out....other than that youd be fine

    reasoning behind this was th e focus and mental strength. Orgasm releases endorphins that have built up since th last orgasm thus creating the effect of tranquility and relief. No sex holds those endorphins and keeps mental focus until the race or event so the athelete was able to focus harder and push past physical barriers. As for weightlifting - if you are a powerlifter I would reccomend no sex 2-3 days prior to the event. Bodybuilder 2-3 days before a competition. Everyday training----dont worry about it. Its all ablut mental focus and how strong your head is. Some poeple can blow a load and 30 miniutes later win a power lifting meet---others need alll the mental help they can get. just my .02

    yes yes it will. No sex or jackin off for your cycle, that's why people say don't start with a long cycle right away, it takes alot of comettment.

    Causes temporary lowering of testosterone , but so does a workout! Its all temporary... if on cycle, your esters will release some more testosterone in a timely manner, if natural the low testosterone state will trigger your hypothalmus to call for increase production and within an hour you are relatively back to where you were before.

    Also regular sex or jacking offs is rumored to be healthy for your prostrate and helps reduces enlarging of the prostate. Going without sex for a week or more at a time can encourage problems with prostate.

    Also when you are using your sperm, you trigger rapid increase in production to replace what you've used, this can also trigger additional testosterone production.

    Also your brain is key to everything. For example its proven fact that if a man like gets sex only on Saturday because wife delegates 1 day of week for sex night, or a single guy only gets to go out to bar on saturday nights and expects to get lucky, its proven that on this saturday for example, testosterone soars much above the days the man does not expect to get sex. Also bored older men in long marriage tend to have decline of testosterone, but lets say if gets a business trip to Vegas and plans to cheat, his brain can trigger a big increase in testosterone in anticipation of cheating when he goes on that vacation. There were studies that cited these very scenarios that showed a man's anticipation of getting sex causes teh best increase of testosterone possible. So if you take away the sex from athletes, they actually will drop their testosterone MORE then if you let them get it on like a wild dog in heat before the game!

    i think it was in a medical journal that i read that having sex/an orgasm with your morning erection, most days leads to a healthier prostrate and testosterone levels in later life.
