My doctor is an idiot!

Ok here is the deal. I thought I was starting to see signs of gyno so I went to the doctor to get checked up. This is what he said when I told him I was on AAS. He told me to quit everythiong that I was taking. including the test, deca,nolva, l_dex, and b6. Then he proceded to tell me not to take my PCT! WTF. I was like I have done my research and if I don't take my PCT some serious sh!t is going to happen. and he said "I suggest that you discontinue all meds that you are taking including anti-e's". The guy is a fucing retard.

What should I do?

Ask him if he will refer me to a dock that knows his a$$ from a hole in the ground?

Call my insurance co. and ask them?

he has me set up for a mamogram friday. but after what he told me I cant trust him.

Has anyone ever heard of insurance covering treatment of gyno?

the truth of the matter is most family doctors dont know anymore about steroids then the average joe.if your hell bent on discussing this with a doctor find one that practices in internal medicine or just go see an endocrynologist

I agree with Devldog. My genral Doc didn't know sh*t about gear use. I went to an Endo and he really knows his stuff. He taught me a few things and understood everything I have seen on this board. GO TO AN ENDO! They live and breath steriods and know how to get you back to normal when something goes wrong.

If he is such an idiot then why don't you just present to him all your "research" supporting the use of PCT and all the "serious sh1t" that is going to happen to you. Most doctors will listen to any intelligent argument their patient has.

I suspect you have confused "research" and reading message boards.

You need a new doc. Go to an endocronologist or life extentionist.

So what your saying smart guy is that PCT isnt nessisary. Get your head out of your a$$. My doctor didnt even know what Deca-Durabolin (nandrolone decanoate) was. My feeling on the subject is that if he doesn't know WTF he is talking about he shouldn't tell me something that can potentially hurt me.

I wouldnt necessarily call him an "idiot"...I mean his is a DOCTOR(which is really hard work). but maybe a retard when it comes to steroids

true.....but he of all people should know not to tell someone to do something if he himself doesn't know what he is talking about. Also I tried to explain to the guy why I am taking ant-e's and a pct of clomid and he told me to quit.

What I'm saying is if you are so sure there is any advantage to anti-e's in your situation then you should easily be able to produce evidence to that effect and discuss it with your doctor. Doctors make decisions based off clinical evidence, not heresay from internet message boards.

If some random dude came to me taking a laundry list of hormones, I would do the same thing your doctor did, because their is clearly no health benefit to taking anti-e's in your case.

If on the other hand, you were able to put forth an intelligent explanation of your posistion, I might be willing to work with you on the anti-e's. But no way in hell would I do that for someone who doesn't first display a high-level of understanding.

I think the case here is that General Practitioners are not Endocrinologist. Mine told me outright that "I had a basic medical right" to get the best care possible and go see a specialist in HRT and this type of study.

I disagree that your doctor should of told you to stop anything, but insted should of just said "I need to refer you to____________". Mine admitted that this area of study was not his, he had superficial knowledge enough to send me down the road. I like someone who isn't afraid to say "I don't know."

Yeah id ask for a second opinion man. Even then u will probably get told the same cos docs havnt got a clue about this sh1t. I actually got my pct of my doc after confronting him with some hard facts about roids because I didnt have any pct. I told him that i was gonna grow tits and **** unless he sorted me out but to be honest he was only going along with me so he didnt look like a complete wan*er because hes the doc and should know about this.

Anyway at the end of the day, I got my pct out of the fu*ker. LOL

My cousin just graduated from medical school, and I was telling him about ATP, creatine, ribose, dextrose, whey protein in he was amazed at how much I know. I think if I give him a lecture about steroids he would bow to me. :wg:

dude, a doctor cant possibly know every drug out there and know about every singel part of the body. that is why there are different fields. he should of reccommended you to someone who knows what he needs but hes not an idiot. 4 years of college, 3 years of med school, 1 year of residence dosnt make him an idiot. he just dosnt know about roids. he is only your pcp.

I think your doctor made the right decision in your circumstances, he was NOT saying the PCT isn't necessary or recommended. He just wanted you to go off all perscription meds you don't have a perscription for.

Not doing PCT will not really lead to 'serious shit' in terms of health, just a really rough adjustment time and low maintenance of mass/strength.

Most doctors want nothing to do with patients unlawfully taking controlled substances and don't really know much about AASs. As stated see an endo.

I like my family doctor a lot when it comes to things like a routine physical, especially since he always says I am a "fine physical specimen." But I totally disagree with him on many things. One of the main things is whey protein. He tries to tell me I shouldn't take it, but I told him I will never stop. He asked my why, and I told him I try to take in as wide of a variety of proteins as I can. He tells me I should just eat eggs, and chicken, and beef. I told him thats what I live on. But there are times when it is just not possible to have a solid meal, or I just don't have time, and I can't always have meals prepared ahead of time. He says whey protein is SOOOOO refined that when your body processes it it spikes your insulin level and treat it like sugar.

My friends father goes to the same doctor. He had a heart attack last year at 54. He's fine now, and able to work out again. My doc tried to blame it on the supplements he's taken over the years. He might have taken creatine for a while, but all he's been taking for the last few years are Whey protein, NO2, and vitamin. He was taking stacker 2 a bit before the heart attack though. I guess if you already had a bad heart that could not help it.

I wanted to be able to talk to the doctor about the cycle I was on. In the 8th week I strained my neck muscles badly from using bad form (learned a great lesson). I couldn't work for 2 weeks because I was having incapacitating headaches. It felt like someone was trying to pop my skull. The doc said I was having muscle spasms in my head from the strained neck muscles. I had been taking 500mg sust and 400mg EQ a week. I had monitered my BP the whole time, but when I had this serious pain, coupled with the testosterone, my BP jumped up to 136 over 96. I wanted to tell my doc what I was on, but considering his views on whey protein I didn't. Because of the headaches and neck muscles I was out of commision for the last of my cycle and for PCT. My BP has slowly returned to normal as the test wore off. I'm back to normal now, and can work out as hard as ever, and somehow I didn't lose any of my strength gains, just endurance. It was depressing though. I cant wait 4 my next cycle. I learned a good lesson so I won't get hurt during it from using bad form!

Yep.I'm stuck in a little rural town right now so I can't help it. But next week I am moving into the city and I'm going to start asking around at the gym to see if anyone can reccomend a good doctor.

Your doc, in light of his knowledge and experience, gave sound medical advice. When they don't know what to do, they do nothing. When they don't know what to prescribe, they prescribe nothing, and maybe refer you to a specialist. Docs have the biggest probs with patients who self-medicate, and it is natural to tell you to stop stop stop, and let the body heal itself.

A specialist would know better.

It is relatively easy to become something of an expert in a very narrow field of knowledge. The narrower you focus, the more in-depth your knowledge can be with the same amount of brain work. It is not surprising, then, that a relatively uneducated gear monkey could have a body of knowledge specific to gear use that would astonish a medical professional. It is, after all, a fascinating subject. The media hype has definitely given it a cachet that is compelling, even irresistable. To have someone suddenly go into great specific details on what can and cannot be done with what drugs or combinations thereof, and how to mitigate or relieve side effects, definitely gets the rapt attention of anyone at all interested in medicine. My next physical, I will definitely have to have a father to son talk with my doc and explain the facts of life to him. I can do that now, since I am using prescribed meds.

Not all doctors even have DEA or FDA clearance to prescribe any male hormones because most doctors simply are not taught anything about them.. at least when it comes to steroid use...

If you live anywhere near Michigan, you should consult with Dr John Crisler. He posts over at Meso-rx on the Longevity forum. He's an expert on steroid use in athletes and hormone replacement for men.

i said hormone replacement not steriods.. but i agree with what ur saying i thought about it AFTER i posted. but my dad went to a hormone specialist.. i meant it more inoccently then it sounded. just a comprehensive list that states what docs would have a background in that area. HRT is normal enough. it doesnt have to have the illeagle implications although if it was posted on THIS site im sure it would have to include those implications LOL oh well just a though.
