Yah bro, I would DEFINITELY pay a "runner" to take it across. Find some older Mexican guy that speaks english and ask him if you payed if if he would take it across for you. Give him 20 dollars before he takes it across and tell him you will give him the other 20 dollars when you meet him on the other side of the border. Whatever you do, DON'T bring it with you in the car, they WILL search you if you look even the slightest bit suspicious. It is not worth the risk. Good luck bro.

When I go to Mexico, I walk into the Pharmacy, haggle over the price and walk out with a big phat bottle of REAL QV. I put it in a plastic ziploc. Stuff it under my nutz and drive back across the boarder with my friends in the car. Just don't act indifferently when coming back across or you will be headed for trouble. Silly but true, I always manage to strike up a conversation that will involve laughter (not out of control) but something to make it seem like everything in my vehicle is normal.

Good advice. Watch for the female border agents...they seem to make me more nervous

    In regards to my comment:

I am striking up the conversation with whomever is riding in the car. If you try to be too friendly with the BP, they will suspect foul play.

I used to live near the border and as kids we all knew people who brought back all sorts of exotic products. I used to watch some other kids who would sit on the riverbank fishing, with lookouts, and when it was clear, cast across the river and haul back a garbage bag full of EXD cough syrup. It had a mega dose of codeine in it, and you could sell it to the junkies when things were dry. It would get their head right for a few hours. Plus it was actually pretty **** good for coughs, believe it or not. Weed was carried across the shallows in backpacks, paddled or pulled across in skiffs or johnboats, driven across, etc. Other drugs were bodypacked, or hidden in cars. Very rarely was anybody busted unless they were really stoopid, at least at the border.

Now, things are tighter by far. I remember the winos used to elect one of their number to walk across and buy a bottle of tequila with no label on it, (generic!) and walk back. As they got to the point on the bridge where there was dry US soil underneath, the North bank of the Rio Grande, they would drop it to their waiting buddies gathered under the bridge, usually with a blanket or something stretched out to safely catch the bottle. That way they didn't have to pay the 50 cent tax. Now there are high fences even on the bridge, with wire overhead like a cage, etc. They have dogs at the bridge. They have sound and motion sensors along the riverbank. They patrol at night with NVGs. But the border crossing is still easier than the REAL problem...

You see, there is so much local traffic of just folks who live on one side visiting family or shopping or partying or conducting business on the other side, that it doesn't make sense to pour all the effort into checking everybody to the max at the bridge. The real worry is the checkpoints set up usually 40 miles or so in from the border. Local traffic is less so they can focus on YOU a lot harder. Used to be, the checkpoints were only sparodically manned. A frontrunner would drive a few miles ahead of the vehicle or vehicles with the cargo to see if the checkpoint was hot. Then things started getting tighter. At first the manning increased. Then they got dogs. Now they are manned 24/7 and they bust a lot of guys. A decoy sent ahead, that fits the "profile" no longer distracts the feds like it used to. They are getting smarter, and tougher to fool. With all the post-911 crap they are looking even harder for terrorists, or tools useful to them, and that just makes them find even more drugs.

Don't think for a minute that they catch even the majority of smugglers. But even a 2% chance is something to think about. (That figure is just pulled out of my ass, but you get the picture.) So make sure your buddy is very familiar with what goes on not only at the border crossing, but elsewhere along his journey home with the goods.

My advice, learned, thankfully, from someone else's mistake, is DO NOT trust a mule unless you grew up with him and you both boinked each other's sister. You are just a dumb gringo and they will roll over on you in a second. If you think you can just keep an eye on the guy as he crosses and split if he gets nabbed, think again. They watch for that ****.

The only feasible thing is bodypacking. That can work if you are really cool and never get nervous. But of course it only works for amounts suitable for personal use. Don't think about making multiple trips! Go once, get enough for one cycle, and celebrate not getting caught.

Don't assume that the friendly pharmacist likes your face so much that he won't rat you. You are dealing with strangers. Just cause he has a shingle up and a cute little cashier means nothing. Just because tourists go in and get their cipro and vioxx and viagra means nothing. Don't use your credit card. Don't broadcast your business.

Good luck, and let us know how your friend makes out. Maybe we can learn something from him.

Back in the day, my gear would be delivered to me in a giant ball of duct tape. It was all Sus 250 preloads from Organon. My friends use to dismount the spare and put the package inside the tire, seat the bead and put enough air in it so it looked like most spare tires(Half flat). They also packed newspaper around it to keep it from moving around. If border partol picked up the spare to check under it, it looked and felt totally normal! Cool, huh?!!

Everyone says find a mexican runner. None of the Mexicans are even allowed to cross the border. So how would that even work??? Just go on a busy weekend and walk your shiit right across. Just make sure you have other items in bags also. You dont look right just walking back with a smile and nothing in your hands.

Downtown Brownsville would be a ghost town if Mexicans couldn't cross the bridge LOL! They get cards that let them cross for a day. Some get visas and work in the U.S. and live in Matamoros, or live in Brownsville and work in Matamoros. Some get green cards and establish legal residence in the US. Families visit each other that straddle the border. More Mexicans cross the Gateway Bridge than Americans. ALSO, a lot of mules cross without using the official crossing points. Why do you think they call them "wetbacks"?

That said, DO NOT trust a mule you don't know from earliest childhood! They will roll over on you if they get popped. They will tell customs or dea or whoever is handling them exactly where they are supposed to hand over the gear. They will get you, and the mule will get off easy and tell you to stuff your $50 up your keester. AMF. YMMV of course.

There's a reason everyone says get a mexican runner. Because they are there and they do work. Have you ever even been to the border? When you walk across, the majority of the people in line are mexican workers crossing into the US for work or day permits. Don't mean to be a d!ck but don't tell someone wrong info. The rest of the post is correct though. Tape it somewhere, where baggy clothes, drinks a couple $1 beers and buy some mexican vendor stuff, then head back across. It's not too bad.

Just remember that you are gambling everytime you go across and come back with something...same as in Vegas...the house always wins. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not in a year, but why risk a possible felony for something you can get inside the US with a bit of work? Just my .02 though. I too have smuggled $hit across the border, but I won't do it again because my source is quick and very reliable.

most of the pharmacies have a runner that u can pay to take the stuff across for you. have a buddy wait on the u.s. side and u trail from the mexican side so he cant run off with ur ****. it used to be legal to bring back 50 dosage units w/o a script as long as u declared them thru customs but the customs laws have recently been changed and they can be interpreted many different ways now. whatever u choose good luck, bro!
