Vitamin E harmful?
sorry if this is in wrong room,but
The New Orleans AP is reporting that more then 400IU of vitamin E daily increases your chance of heart atttack by 10% as opposed to less then 200IU daily. I am 21 and currently taken 400 IU. Should I stop or is this just for old heads more or less?

I was watching the news the other night and they said the exact same bullsh$t!
I'm taking about 1600ius ed and i do reg. blood check, they have studies about vit E being useless below 200iu and that it has some good helathy side to it! like loosen the plack in artery and all that. they have some weak evidence of the heart attack thing. and they have a crap load to offer on the benefith of vit E
just my opinion

Too much of any non water soluble vitamin can be harmful. Its not like vitamin c that'll just piss out the excess. Be careful any of the other vitamins can be harmful if taken too much

This study is conveying the message that any dose over 200iu/day is too much, &
those people taking more have a 10% greater risk of a myocardial infarction. I will
keep taking my 400iu every day until I see more studies w/ the same results.

Yea, new study showed over 400iu could be bad but it said was conclusive at 1000iu daily. It's not going to make me stop taking 400iu eod. Not sure how much validity it has..

i have so much 400IU that are the soft-gel pill form, i dont i would be able to cut in half, what you recommend dimes?

Here is a solution, there is such a thing as water soluble vitamin e, that way you just get rid of what your body doesn't need. Same thing with vitamin A, take beta carotine instead and your body will only convert what it needs.
