Medical Insurance
I cant seem to get an answer to my question. I have asked it on a few other message boards. So maybe you guys can help me out.
I would like to know in Medical Insurance(United Health Care) will cover a perscription for Propecia?
If not how much would a perscription cost ?
Thanks

LMAO....I think they even have a toll free number...but seriously it would depend on your plan...I don’t think they do because it’s more cosmetic than a medical necessity...

propecia
I doubt it very seriously. Loss of hair isn't going to affect your health. Why don't you just call U.H.C.? As far as cost of a script call your local drug store. They can give you this information. Remember if you start Propecia and then discontinue use your new growth will disappear.

Thanks for the info guys, even the LOL stuff.
I went to my doc today because i just reinjured my shoulder doing front dumb bell raises with a freaking 30lb dumb bell. Got some pain meds and anti inflamitories. Gonna take the next week to a week and a half of just to give the body a rest and also my lifting partner is sick as a dog.
Any way i also asked my doc about the propacia and he i would have to take it for the rest of my life or until im ready to let nature run its course. And then he gave me a perscription for it.
By the way UHC did not cover it. It ran me 57 bucks for 1 months worth.
anyway Thanks

Thanks bro.
Should i realy wait that long before starting. Is the deca still active enough to cause problems, i know it can show up on drug test for up to 18 months.
I hope im not doing the comb over thing by the time im ready to start the propacia.
Thanks

Some insurances pay and others dont because it is considered cosmetic. But if you can get a doctor to write for Proscar (also finestrade/propecia) but is 5mg instead of propecia's 1mg. Proscar is a prostate med but the same exact thing as propecia just a higher dose. All insurances pay for this because it is for a true medical problem. Just cut the pill into quarters and the you have equivalent to propecia. Actually better because you pay for one script and it lasts 4 times as long as a propecia script because you cut each pill into quarters.
