Should your blood be bright, dark, thin...thick?

Which is considered normal? I've always been a bleeder with injections (like a couple small drops that are not really bright red, but much lighter then my friends). But my lifting/cycle buddy rarely bleeds and just recently bled twice and both times he bled a dark like almost maroon red and it looked thick...not at all like mine. The first time was from his delt and the second was from his glute.

So please vote so I can get an idea of what the "norm" is. And if anyone has an explanation why our blood looks different please post.

its red.....i have a lot of platlets in my blood (well atleast the doc said so) so my blood tends to clot quickly. I guess you can call it thick. I mean everyones blood is different maybe it has to do with blood type also? maybe maybe not
