    cops got me!!!! help please

bro's!! i make this quick- back in sept. i got pulled over in dallas(garland) i was speeding and the cop asked if he could look in my car. i know i was stupid for letting me i didnt think he'd go through everything cause i had so much crap in my car from traveling for work. he founf 2 bottles of winstrol and took my livitra and viagra's as well. i did have scripts for those. he said it wasmy lucky day and let me go. well i thought he was going to keep the stuff for himself. than i got this flier in the mail from a law office in dallas just promoting there firm but i live in missouri so i was curious how they got my name. so i called they said they got it from the records dept. at the police dept in garland. so now i made some calls and founf out the cop files a case at large on me and sent the winnie of to get tested. so now they are maybe going to charge me with 28 grams of stanozolo but less than 200 grams which falls under a class 3 felony. man i have a really good job and am 32 years old trying to get this federal job that goes along with my current job. can you guys please give some help i know no one in dallas and am really scared. please be serious!!!! thanks!!!

ya i would talk to an attorney don't know the law in the US i'm sure its the same as in canada, their not suppose to search or go into your vehicle without a warrant, you could argue in court that you were confused and scared and didn't think that he needed a warrant and thats why u gave him the permission, or could say he violated your rights by searching without a warrant, but not sure that would go anywhere beings he asked and u said yes

you need to get a copy of the police report first, do that immediatley. Then repost the charges

IMO, a good defense atty would prob. be able to get you out of it, as far as a sentence, it depends on the DA. You could plea out and only get probation and a fine (which if they opt to press charges, then it's the most likely outcome), or if it's time for him to re-up and is looking for a hard line public image, you're f-ed and might be lookin at a felony conviction (but this is very unlikely)

Good luck man, and just look for a good defense atty that is used to dealing with drug charges (dont have to be specifically juice)

the worst case would be a deal and probation , in that case you should be able to deal down to a misdimeanor, which should not jeopardize you federal job. What area of the gov't is it in?

it means, go to the courthouse where the charges come from, and ask for a copy of the report(be sure to have the case #) they prob. will charge you like 5 bucks.... its the first step you have to do

victor, a plea isnt guarenteed. if the DA feels as though it's a solid case, it is very likely that they will persue the full charge

I'd say talk to an atty, and have him and youself make a conference call the the DA's office in the county where you got busted.

Quickly isn't really an option... it'll be on your mind for a while.

Seriously, find the BEST lawyer you can afford and make sure s/he covers all the extra bases like probable cause hearing.

You have to immediately get a copy of the police report so you know what you're dealing with. Sometimes they provide you with this at your first court date.

It will work out so have patience.

Yeah, for the first appearance, because you've never been booked... after that, depending on what they charge you with, you might not have to show up, except for sentencing
