Yup, if you go slow enough sometimes you might feel your muscles start to twitch just backout.
Depends on the size of the needle and how much bodyfat you have.
my legs have no fat barley what so ever and the needle size is 1 inch 20g
You're not going into the center of your quad are you? Your sciatic nerve runs right down the middle. Make sure you check www.spotinjections.com for good shot pics.
You should be able to use 5/8 if you have thin skin! So, no, you don't need to go all the way in.
Jeez...I am 9% BF and jab 25g 1.5" all the way into my quad. You just have t figure out where the nerves are and don't stick there...takes practice and trial/error.
Everyone's bodies are different in teerms of exactly where veessels and nerves are.
Good luck.

Sucky trial and error, look at a Grays Anatomy book, lots of good info.
Bad news... u might be able to get away with 5/8 a few times but not injecting deep enough is what accellerates scar tissue, knotting and pain...Quote:

There are only nerves in the skin, very rare to hit a blood vessel, bone or nerve of any type below the surface. Usually you hit a very sensative surface nerve or not at all.
Most of the high pain stories with quads come from not injecting deep enough... if you do it real close to the 1 inch, this is where you hear the stories of being completely painless, what a breeze, etc. Too shallow, you get leakage of oil into adipose tissue and it then hurts like a bitch for 3 days to a week.
5/8 on quads? i doubt it unless you're using a really small volume. Shallow injections increase your risk of pain, embolus, and infection.Quote:
