cotton poisoning

can I swab the pin with a cotton swab of alcohol because I heard sometimes a little bit of cotton stays on the needle and you can get cotton poisoning, what should I do?

the needle is sterile don't swab the needle....don't use the same 1 twice

yes.. you really should never use the same needle twice.. most people use one needle for drawing from the vial, and another for injecting. You're already putting your health at risk by using steroids , you might as well try to minimize your risk of infection.

I.V. drug users get something called "cotton fever" not cotton poisoning. This is when a fiber of cotton, used for the filtration of the dope and cut, is draw into the needle and enters the blood stream. It causes the individual to feel very bad, sometimes shaking and headache accompany this. You do not have to worry about this if you are taking I.M. shots and aspirating. Hope this helps. Peace
