Benching 355 And Leg Press 800 In High School
I was posting on a different thread saying my bench is 355, Leg Press 800 lbs, Squat 455 and hammer curling 120 lb dumbells. Without gear, and someone said they were doing this in high school now when I was in High School my numbers were close minus the hammer curls but my tes levels were alot higher and I trained 5 days a week. Just curious if there is anyone that can be honest and say they hit these numbers in high school.
I have been lifting for more than 20 years at Golds, Powerhouse, Pro Body, 24 Hour, West Coast Fitness and even guys that were on tons of gear were sticking around 405 - 445 bench and that was pretty impressive for 6 reps. Is there some part of the country where 355 is nothing natural. Keep in mind I am 5'9 and 196 lbs. I would like to here what people on the board are benching and squatting as a guide. Natural or on doesn't matter because I am on and off.

That's very impressive 435. at 16! I hear guys at the gym say when their "on" they can nearly double their bench. For some reason I never see it though. I am talking about from 315 - 600 lbs. Yet I can sit down and do 355 while they just happen to be doing 225 that day....hmmmm something just doesn't seem right???

ha, i got a buddy that is a "Farm Boy" Huge mofo he benches 605, behind-hed Military 315 clean- no juice @ age 22 he says he was benching 305 at age 12, im skeptical of this but when i saw him press up 550 3x then do a 10 sec negative... hell i dont know wat to believe anymore. He wont do squats.. says he has a bad knee(w/e) but he can load up a legpress to the sky and play w/ it .. "No Squats = PUSS" and for his back he does wide grip pull ups.. he weighs 285 and would put 4x45lbPlates on his Weighted Belt and rep out about 5 w/ a 10 sec negative... he went to Russia to wrestle havent heard from him since.. but he said when he hits 320 Natural he is going to juice..i was just impressed his wrists could hold... Genetics.. some people are blessed and others.. like me .. are Gods Practical Joke.

Needle great numbers.....MAAAN these clean numbers I am hearing are insane! We are talking about a clean jerk not a stiff legged dead right? To clean jerk over 300 lbs is impressive as hell I must be really lacking in that area I will have to work on it. I start with 175 and can hit 225 thats weak compared to 300+.. Oh well gives me something to shoot for. Thanks for all the replies.

I do mostly BB'ing now but what I can tell you is that I am just returning from Spinal Fusion in 2002 and I am doing a 365 bench for a triple. I do mostly front squats although I do 3-4 sets of 10-12 with 315 on squats, and I haven't dead-lifted in 15 years until Sunday. Just for sh1ts and grins I did 405 for a triple for my first time in years I felt pretty good about that.
40 years old
6 foot
226 pounds
Most of my training is in the higher rep ranges.

Weighed 125 as a 16 year old and benched 155
Now 37 bench 375 at 176 pounds natural but will be finding out what I can do with AS when I start my first cycle in a couple of weeks. Squat maxed out at 450 in mid 20's but 3 arthro. surgeries later on left knee and two on my right have pretty well put an end to my heavy squatting.

My buddy is 18 and graduated last year, where he set his highschool record for 405lb bench. He's a powerlifter and while I don't remember the squat and deadlift numbers they are up there. He's never taken any steroids or anything, weighs 225 at 6'1".

Never did cleans when I was young but then again growing up in MS playing guard, iron man fashion, the most important thing was leg strength and lungs so I pushed a four and seven man sled most of my time….every ****ing day really…..in the summer it was twice a day for five days….that’s right we weren’t going to school it was the summer…..but if you wanted to play ball you had your ass at the field twice a day, sometimes till midnight..
Bench: 250-275 (give e a break, it was a looooong time ago) yes my bench sucked…still does, I can do 315 for one rep today.
Squat: 400-450 (seriously most of the time coach piled plates on until you gave out)…I can do 415-430 for one today.
Dead: 500-525 (this was something I was pretty good at….then again wrestling tree stumps and throwing hay bales kinda helps) I can’t even get close to this….ever again…...my back paid a pretty big price playing ball. I can get 420 twice maybe. Last time I did that much was two years ago.
This would be when I was about 18 or 19…a hair short of 6 feet and weight was 220 .I’m forty now and tipping the scales at 240.
Oh yeah, compared to other players in my day….I was a light weight. I knew guys that were freakin huge.
