Do you think punching a punching bag or jumping rope is bad. I also like to play basketball to me basketball and punching the bag are the funniest forms of cardio basketball can get intense and sometimes we play for like 2 hrs. Just curious if this would be considered excessive.

It's only excessive when you start feeling like something is wrong. Then simply just stop for a while and come back later on taking it easier.

A lot of pick up basketball is fast breaks and thats basicly a all out sprint so of course it will help. But when it come to burning fat, more endurance running is needed 45mins plus at about 60% of your max heart rate. Low intensity but with that long your body starts burning fat for enegry not just carbs
