dropped my vial on the floor......

    Hi

    Just a quick question.

The other day, I accidently knocked my sus vial, that had half left in it, on the floor. None seemed to spill but the outside of the vial got a little bit dirty but I cant see anything that got inside. It looks clean to the eye basically.

Anyway, question is, can I use that still or would it not be recommended ?? Whats the worst that could happen ??

    Thanks a lot

    Darren

Are you talking about a single shot?? if so I would throw it out....you can never be sure that something didn't get in there, i mean it is up to you but for ten bucks avoiding an infection is worth it....if it is a multi shot then just wipe it off with alcohol like tags said.....good luck!

I throw away nothing that hits the floor. Like suggested, alchohol the surface on the top, your shooting the contents, not the surface of your stopper.

are we talking about a vial here or is it an amp. The way you describe nothing falling out and all it sounds like you may mean an amp. If it is an amp I would throw it out, if a vial, I think you will be fine.

After reading through all this, I realised I said Vial instead of amp !!

It is half an amp of sus that fell on the floor. Not sure what to do about it still.

    thanks

    Darren

Also, I pulled it up into a tube and it has been kept in there for if I do choose to use it.

Toss it bro, its not worth the risk of infection. Anything could have got into the open amp. They are cheap anyways so dont worry about it and just get another if possible.

If there was dirt on the outside, there is dirt inside....for such a cheap amp, toss it

Toss it, if we could see all the germs and bacteria in the environment people would never get sick. I venture to guess you dropped it on the bathroom floor, which is a breeding ground for bacteria. Plus it has been opened for a day now...chuck it.

Why did you have a half empty amp of sust lying around? Are you injecting only half an amp at a time?

Maybe he was using 1/2ml EOD or ED? I would hope preloading the other syringe though, rather than leaving it in the opened amp. Or maybe he fumbled and dropped it while drawing?

Anyway, I say toss it. Or inject your lab rats with it.

    Exactly what i was wondering?

Dude, if you are using just half an amp at a time, put all your amps in a sterile vial and store it that way. Theres no sanitary way to store an open amp.
