So.. you through all 17aa's were liver toxic.

Well, not if they're metabolized in the kidney!

Unlike other 17alpha-alkylated AASs, oxandrolone confers a resistance to liver metabolism. Oxandrolone also lacks the serious hepatotoxic effects (jaundice, cholestatic hepatitis, peliosis hepatis, hyperplasias and neoplasms) attributed to the 17alpha-alkylated AASs. Oxandrolone is reported to be generally well tolerated and the most commonly documented adverse effects are transient elevations in transaminase levels and reductions in high density lipoprotein cholesterol levels.

Instead, Oxandrolone is metabolized in the kidney, but displays no significant signs of toxicity.

I'm currently looking for metabolism routes of other orals. But i figured it'd be good to know for everyone that freaks out about liver damage anytime someone says oral steroid .

The liver removes the alkylation. This post could inadvertently reinforce an already existing myth about anavar ; namely, that it is not dangerous or stressful to the liver. It is. Granted, there are other steroids that are far more dangerous, but anavar is not without dangers, especially in supraphysiological doses. People's livers are different. What is safe for one person is not always safe for the next. I am a big fan of anavar. But when I ran it at 60mg/day without any liver protectors, my enzymes became slightly elevated within six weeks. I added Tylers and everything returned to baseline after four more weeks. However, the anavar DID cause some stress to my liver, and will render the liver a little less efficient at removing other toxins from the blood.

Make no mistake about it. Anavar, like other 17aa steroids, needs to be taken as seriously as other orals - one should take all necessary precautions, including bloodtests, while cycling it.

Nice post bro. This clears things up.
I always try to tell people Oxandrolone isn't liver toxic.

That can be misconstrued. It needs a mechanism to avoid liver metabolism (17-alk), so to some degree it is liver toxic. It may not be symptomatic but it would be naive to believe it puts no stress on the liver.

According to the paper i listed the 17-alkylation is not removed in the liver. It is largely not metabolized at all in the liver.

That is correct, it is liver resistant. That's what makes 17-AA's liver toxic. It's not the metbolism, but the resistance to it that causes elevated liver values. Var is the least toxic of all of the 17-AA's though.

Resistance is not what makes 17-aa's toxic. That's a bigtime misconception. It's the enzyme that's required to cleave that bond that causes the toxicity. However, the liver doesn't cleave that bond with oxandrolone. Do you see?

That seems a bit unneccesary. Given the huge amount of civility that we both showed eachother in the thread despite differing opinions, i'm quite pissed that you sullied this thread with your immaturity.

See we had what is called an adult conversation about topics you have no idea about. So while the men are talking go play. Or go do another Winny only cycle and come back and lie about your results.

Loz gives a very large amount of good advice. That's why our staff requested he come back to the board after a long hiatus. In this case however he simply hadn't seen the research before, as a lot of people on the board hadn't. There is nothing wrong with having something explained to you before you buy into it.

aren't you already treading on thin ice? Glock isn't too far off himself, but you've already been banned under another name. You should probably avoid stepping on any more toes.

Glock, take a day off... this is your 100th offense so far. You've been suspended for 24 hours, if it happens again its forever. I'm getting tired of your crap.
