try sitting on heat pad.. i remember my buddy hit one up in his leg.. it was swollen and red for about a week and slowly went away. we never did figure out what it was. if it gets unbearable see your doc. just tell him the truth and ask that it doesnt go on your medical record

Def, go to the Dr. I work in the medical field and I have seen things like this get really infected and have to be surgically cut out.

    DOC!

    GO!

    NOW!

Antibiotics often don't do much for an abscess, because there is so little fluid interchange between the interior of the abscess and the body. It should be evaluated by a doc, and lanced/aspirated/removed/whatever, if necessary. Don't think that you can rely on cipro to magically clear it up. It might work. It might not. I might win the lottery tonight. If I lose, no biggie. If you lose, biggie indeed. BDTR just had a very tense and suspenseful crisis with an abscess. His words carry weight in this matter.
