I would never think its appropriate to walk up to a girl who's on her 33rd minute of the eliptical and ask for her number. I personally hate when people talk to me in the gym it is my sanctuary a place where one should not be bothered. I have however noticed women in the gym then by chance I run into them at the bar. Then it is easy to approach them and start a conversation and see where it can go from there.

I dont venture my gym like a predator for girls. I am there to push weight and get the hell out of there. If a girl came up and talked to me that is a different story. I would be brief and ask to continue the conversation afterward or during cardio. Then i would be back to throwing my weight around

I also wanted to say...the first time you see a woman is definitely not the time you want to approach her...you can't let them know that you want them bad..else you'll get pushed away. You have to play hard to get first....especially with women at the gym. Think about it this way..there are about 20 sausages to 1 woman at the gym...you have to play your cards right..

at 5'5 and 19 inch arms and 16 % BF..you probably looks like a short brick house. A lot of women don't like BIG guys...they like the athletic type, abercrombie and fitch beach body type. Plus at your height, with all that mass....you look a lot shorter than you are...which is definitely not a plus if you're trying to pick up certain women.
