    What causes muscle pumps???

I have read alot of the threads on muscle pumps but none give a really good description on how they occur or why. I know it has to do with blood rushing to the muscle...but that's all i know. I am interested because I would always get them in the gym but all of a sudden for the last 4 weeks I haven't been getting them...any suggestions???

This is the wrong thread for this discussion try the workout section.

My suggestion train harder, squeeze ur muscles at contraction.

    easy fix,
drink more water, and WORK OUT HARDER!!!! you need to pump for weight for longer, thats what ive been doing, with a lot of water intake. also, preacher curls really get my arms pumped. but when i do them, its weird, if my skin is tight or streching on the cushoin, ill get a major pump and can feel the blod flowing to that area. just my opinion

my only guess is i'm not getting enough water...preacher curls give killer pumps right where your forearm connects to your bicep...ouch...it feels awesome...i need that feeling again

Bloating causes killer pumps. On my lest cycle I switched compounds a bit and ended up gaining about 25lbs of water in 2 weeks. The pumps went from normal to really painful. I could hardly walk my shins and calves would get so pumped I almost couldn't move them.

Yea...when I started taking creatine...whether eating a big meal or chugging water I would bloat like crazy...Even though I had the bloated feeling it was awesome in the gym and even out of the gym...you look like a monster
