    Tazorac for acne.

since my dermatologist has tried everything from Retin-A to your basic anti-biotics... he prescribed me a topical i've never heard of called Tazorac (tazarotene). keep in mind he won't prescribe me Accutane for... mental issues but we'll leave it at that.

    it works!

    has anyone else tried it?

Yes, I've used tazorac gel myself, it works really well for drying out acne. It's pricey though, even with insurance. I used mine eod and it cleared me up pretty well. I also combated the acne with di-oxycycline tabs and 10% Benzyl wash as well.

with insurance it cost me $25. which is less than what accutane would have cost me including insurance. only problem is i get a weeks supply at a time, which actually lasts me two weeks. so you figure it's $50 a month.

yeah it's better to use EOD, leave it on overnight. and use sparingly. unlike most topicals it doesnt dry-out, it's actually kinda greasy.

as long as i diluted it, there was no irritation. i have sensitive skin to begin with. after my shower i use a "Dual Action" Moisturizer. Clean & Clear makes it... it's a moisturizer that includes salicylic acid. i wouldnt reccomend using Dawn on your face though.
