Alcohol and Roids

I seen all over about Alcohol and Steriods shouldn't be mixed, I was curious about something and wanted to ask the board. If when you drink and your liver is the one that filters the alcohol which could cause damage to your liver if you drink heavily. How could an injection that is going directly into the muscle affect your liver? I though your liver is a filter for things that is taken orally thru your mouth. So shouldn't your liver be affected by the oral meds, alcohol etc, than taking a steriod shot that is directly injected into a muscle?

if you are taking 17aa, they go through the liver and are harsh, so NO alcohol. way too harsh. As for injectables, it really isn't a question of if it is possible it goes down to goals. If you want to party and get drunk on empty cals, then you are bodybuilding seriously, and if you aren't bodybuilding seriously, you should be drinking alcohol. personally i take it seriously but i keep my drinking to a minimum because of the empty cals.

alcohol lowers test levels, acts a a diaretic, can cause your workouts to be half-ass, etc...

when you take orally,

goes through liver and body multiple times to be broken down properly


when you take injectibles,

goes through liver and body once to be broken down(less harsh, but still wouldnt drink

while on juice & would run liv 52 or some protection with any cycle.

Hey thanks for all the replies but I hear what everyone is saying about drinking and working out, I know that beer(which I drink) has alot of cal and its harder to burn it off and its affecting your work out. But I was still curious about how it affect your liver since everone say it does. I know when I'm on my cycle I do cut out the alcohol and I get better results but I was just curious.

i have not been getting very good gains recently. Could this be because i have been drinking more??

i try to keep drinking down to a minuim. It is hard when all your mate's are gettin pissed and your sober. but that's the price you have to pay and boy dose it pay :asskiss:

drinking on steroids dramaticly increases the conversion of androgens to estrogen so can increase gyno risks.

and lets not forget who the hell wants to go to the gym when your hung over

Damn its a shame we all want to work out look nice with the Roids and still want to have some beers. They say alcohol is a depressant but it sure relaxes me and releases the stress. Well I'm laying off my beers till my cycle is over so I can loose as much weight as I can, but I do miss a nice cold one every now and again, dripping wet, cold ice falling down the sides and ripples on the bottle and when you touch it, like damn that's nice and cold, just popping the cap hearing that shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound and taking that first sip of that ice cold beer running down your throat feeling that soothing liquid just nice and cold on your intestines.........hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok I'm done.... :lol:

do you fu$% the bottle or drink it? lol, how about hard liquor, not as much cal's but possible harder on the liver?

i heard vodka and water was teh bodybiulder drink

It makes you fat, gives gyno, and cancels out everything you did at the gym that day. Plus you wil lprobably end up f*ckin a fat girl.

Drank while doing it

Died of liver failure. :tear:
Doctor said he had no liver it was just liquid.
Doctor said since he was in such good shape that his body carried his liver until the end.
He got sick on a Saturday threw up at the gym with me then went to sleep early. Went to work on Sunday and died in his sleep that nite.
So he had a 2 day warning.

as for the drinkin on cycle, just think bout it, all that work u put in to make those gains....do u really wanna go drink them away? plus it's just too big of a risk for me to even think about it. but it is your body do with it what u please.

Damn sorry to hear about your friend dude, he must have been drinking heavily. Well good luck to all, I'm drinking but its only water and working out like a MF in the gym, got to get rid of the gut I build up, so I can be decent for the hot weather.
