    Question Aspirating Q

During my first solo inject im not sure if i aspirated...

I was decently nervous and my hands were shaking. I tried to pull back on the plunger, but it seemed fairly difficult. It was like there was suction or something holding me back from aspirating. I was trying not to shake the needle, and if i pulled any harder back on the plunger i woulda ripped apart my quad I think!! So I just said Fu*k it and injected, I may have pulled the plunger back a tiny bit im not really sure, just wanted to get it over with and i didnt see any blood...

Why was it so hard to aspirate ?? Is there a trick or something???

exactly it shud be difficult to pull back and when u release it, it shud snap back to original local.
if you hit a vein it would come back real easy real fast and you would see blood in the chamber of the needle.

there's no trick to it, and it gets to be fairly easy the more you do it. You just want to make sure you are not poking in a vein. I find it easiest to aspirate in the quad.

You want suction. Suction is a good thing. Just make sure when you pull it back you see a couple bubbles form in the syringe. When you let go the bubbles should disappear. Hope this helps ease your mind.

When the nurses at the hospital aspirate you, you will not even notice it. They do it so fast all they do is flick back on the plunger because if its in a vein it will come back just that easily. You DO NOT want to pull back hard on the plunger you can cause damage to the tissue by doing this.
