write about how steroids can help cure the muscle faster when it is injured. I think that would be a good topic to base your speech on.

Damn, that's a hard sell. What do you mean by legal? For sale over the counter--or by perscription form a physician?

If you mean for sale over-the-counter, you have to take on the whole medical profession; they want to keep a lock on the ability to sell drugs legallyat least the really interesting ones!

If you mean legally prescripted by doctors, that's a different story. Most doctors are constrained to prescribing drugs to 'treat a condition," not necessarily to optimize health or for cosmetic purposes.

Personally, I think the only rational argument is based upon the belief that people should be allowed to determine their fate and choose what they put into their bodies--as long as it does not hurt others. (For example: it's OK to smoke cigarettes--it only hurts you, it's not OK to do crack, becasue you get psychotic and kill people.)

The problem is that the 'moral majority' often gets to make that decision for us, which is a pretty shitty deal in my book...

    Yep I agree with night-op!!!!

Wipe out all the bullshit Chinese Whispers like "It shrinks your dick" and "When you stop training it turns to fat"

If you want a good site to find medical documents and related studies click on the below listed site, do a search on different steriods like "Dianabol "

Also, when steroids were banned, much of the research also stopped. Much of the danger in steroids is abuse and stupidity. The first can't be stopped and they bring it upon themselves. Do we throw alcoholics in jail? We don't punish them unless they infringe on the rights of someone else. The latter is caused of misinformation or lack of information.

There is a direct correlation between nuclear power and steroid use :

Both have been blown out of proportion from media and myths
Both cause fear because the public is uninformed
Both are relatively safe when used correctly

Some people will say, "Well, steroid use has been illegal for a while, it should just stay illegal." As if we have established a tradition or something. You can point these people to prohibition. Alcohol was illegalized for many years but the decision was overturned in the 18th amendment. ITS THE SAME EXACT THING BUT WITH A DIFFERENT SUBSTANCE.

Hope some of this has helped you.

i think the misconception of "roid rage " plays a big part in keeping them illegal. shows like lifestories families in crisis when the guy was juicing and beat the shit out of his girl dont exactly glorify the use of steroids .

all those benefits of steroids sited by members are true, but there's nothing preventing a truely needy patient from obtaining a prescription for steroids from his/her doctor. aids, burn, anemic patients all can get steroids legally from a doctor.

in your speech you should try to address these issues and how to overcome them.

also keep in mind that the legalization of steroids would lead to an enormous surge in uneducated teenage use. talk about how you could solve this problem in your speech.
