    Side effects

No mention of adverse health effects. Does this omission imply lackthereof? I would think that there would definitely be SOME short and long term contraindications.

man they sure are pussies. he/they talk nothing but bad about people wanting to become stronger. Sports has its implications of fairness but he acuses people like us who just want to improve ourselves that of being "abusers"

I'm a bit skeptical of the real use in bodybuilding. Sure there's bound to be some benefit, the doctors are already predicting abuse in sports of gene therapy in the future.

However, the quote of a 40% gain in strength was for what? Someone with muscle wasting... So if you're a 105 lb AIDS patient with a weak, dying body, then sure you can expect to get some good gains. Your bench could go from using the bar to using the bar plus 20 lbs. WOW!!!

But could a 200 lb bodybuilder really expect their bench to go from 315 lbs to 440 lbs in just weeks from gene therapy? I doubt it.

""The gene which we have cloned turns out to be more of a repair factor rather than just a growth factor," explains Professor Goldspink."

So maybe with heavy workouts and some muscle damage you'd get some benefit from the "repair factor", but it ain't gonna be a 40% increase for a normal male with already strong, normal muscles which won't need that much repair.

My opinion only, time and research will reveal the real benefits of gene therapy.

But it doesn't say anywhere that the gene ever stops working thats crazy. That would be like in about 2 years of it working you could be benching like 800 for reps crazy stuff.

The time will soon come when researchers completely decode our DNA sequence and what exactly each gene does. Our genes are what what make each individual unique. By figuring out what genes control what characteristics, science will soon allow us to activate the genes that are said to be god given. In turn what you will have are bodybuilders will perfect genetics capable of muscle growth and symmetry never thought imaginable. Freaky s**t if you ask me.

i dont think id take it. just cause well its gene therapy is there a way to turn it off? its meant for wasted dieing muscles, our muscles are beyond the opposite of that. i know that steroids was invented or discovered whatever for similar treatments. but 40%, i think you would develop freakish cartoon muscles, and think if its like 40% increase, can you imagine 40% increase in side effects, i dont think theres an anti-e that can stand up to that. wow i dont know, the next decade is going to be pretty interesting!

Thumbs up Umbilical cord from our son

After my wife gave birth to our first son the Dr. ask us if we wanted to save the umbilical cord from our son, we asked why, the Dr. responded that in the new age of gene therapy everything to repair all 3 of our bodies lives inside that umbilical cord, and he strongly encouraged us to have it stored, and of course we did. the Dr. stated that the cord has the ability to grow any new organ that my wife, son, or myself would need, he also stated that it has been done already, and in every case it was a success. The reason for the success rate is because the body does not try to refuse it like other transplants of organs from donors.!

Well now we have igf-1 and myotostain inhibitors-yes they are real. And 2years or so when this hits the black market people will pay anything for it. Steroids are going to be laughed about in the next five years. People will be like HA HA HA you used test.
