    closing of growth plates

    I was just wondering does anyone know what is it that causes the sclosure of epiphyseal plates? I have read that it is testosterone but read from here that it is the aromatization to estrogen (so testosterone indirectly in men). This latter assumption was logical but would like to know if anyone has any facts in regards to this.

    when using steroids testosterone converts to estrogen, that is what close growth plates.what age r u? if ur under 21 ur growth plates may stil b open and letro may help prolong the closure of them. but using steroids wil close ur growth plates, except anavar which does not convert to estrogen ( that is why it was used to premote growth in children) there for u get the benifits of the testosterone with out increased estrogen levels.

    Its not JUST anavar . Theres others out there that dont aromatize.

    Im plenty old (25) but Im just thinking bout this out of interest.. Ive read some conflicting arguments on is it the estrogen or not... just wanna know =) So u say with relative confidence that non aromatizing compounds dont cause the closure?

    Im pretty sure its the excess estrogen. Thats why girls stop growing before guys.

    dont think so... if something converts it converts regardless of the dose. Some might convert just a little so larger does you need novla where as you wouldnt see any estrogenic effects with a smaller dose
