I will only use a 22 gauge. I dont have all night to stand around and wait on the oil to be injected. It actually causes less pain for me than a 25 gauge because of all the movement that comes with waiting so long for the injection. I dont recommend using a 1" for your glutes, however, with that said I have done it before with success. If that is your only option make sure you can find the leanest part of your glute and shoot there.

I use 22ga to draw (if oils) then 25 ga 1in for injection. It is tough getting it through the 25ga though. Pretty funny looking when it is time for the left glut (being right handed and all)

I've never understood this. I know ppl do this because the rubber dulls the needle but have you ever seen a Dr. draw with a seperate needle? No. It doesn't hurt any more or any less IMO. Waste of time if you ask me.

Do you know why the doctor doesn't switch needles?

    Because he's not injecting himself!

The Navy is giving me Test-E and switching out needles is how they trained me. I do my shots slow so incase I hit something important I can stop. It does make a diifence on the amount of pressure needed to penetrate the skin. I've done it both ways for injecting I perfer to switch them out.

I use a 21g to draw and 23g 1 1/2" for Glutes and 25g 1" for delts/quads. Switching needles is just an extra precaution for sterility. Better safe than sorry. Plus I can draw much faster with a 21g as opposed to a 23g or a 25g.

i normally use a 22ga or 23ga 1.5" but i have used needles as big as an 18ga before, just because thats what we use to inject some of the animals on the farm so i had to use what i could get. but now that kinda stung a lil.

Agree with ant. Pain is one consideration, but scarring is another. Smaller hole = smaller scar tissue.

I always draw with 21ga and always shoot with 25ga 1-1/2" no matter where I shoot. That way I only have to buy two items... 3cc rigs with 21ga points, and 25ga pins for shooting. I hate having a big assortment of injection supplies around, and find I don't have a long pin for glutes.

Not a good idea in case the needle breaks, always leave a little exposed, get 1and a half def. for glutes, try 23,easier in the butt!
