The Baltimore Orioles slugger tested positive for the powerful steroid stanozolol, a person with knowledge of the sport's drug-testing program told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Wednesday. The person did not want to be identified because the sport prohibits disclosure about test results without authorization.

Why would someone use winny, as a hitter and at his age, talk about the joints being painful. If he's on V I thought for sure he was on test as HRT. Something sounds funny to me, we all know that test and/or androgenic would be the drug(s) to add mass for power, but winny, it's for speed not power.

I don't know the guy so I can't vouch for him, but something doesn't sound right about this. At his age winny would be the worst choice, of all gear. I'm sure he's going to be the sacrificial lamb on this one. Winny can be orally ingested, so someone could of slipped some to him. Either way I feel for him, the congress is going to cry how could he lie to us. When they lie every day, if they would of listened to the AMA, HHS and the DEA, we wouldn't be talking about this:wg:

Although a little test should have been thrown in winny makes more sense than alot of people know. ya he is old and it could be tough on the joints...but as you said winny promotes speed, baseball is all speed and quickness. Winny would speed his bat up, more bat speed = more homeruns.

keep in mind now he failed the test back in may it took mlb that long to process it. If you noticed when he got to 3000 hits he barely cracked a smile...was he somber because he knew he failed? just a thought. Plus Canseco had no reason to lie in that book and he named only five that he knew for sure juiced (cause he shot them up) McGwire, Giambi, Palmiero, Juan Gonzalez and Ivan Rodriguez. Three of them we know for a fact took steroids Giambi, Palmiero and Mcgwire...as for the other two Rodriguez lost 20 lbs in the off season if that tells you anything and the other is no longer playing

if u now go back and read what canseco said these guys were doing, it puts them in a whole new light... there is no doubt he knew what he was taking or that he even took it... canseco might be a chowder head, but i think he was pretty much tellin it like it is as far as steroid use in baseball... :rolleyes:

That's what I thought when a friend of mine who plays AAA ball for the Yanks. I got him Winny and Sust.....I asked him a few years ago "why Winny". He said all the players were on it and you don't get bloated and lose speed. I think he was doing 250mgs of sust/wk then Winny eod. Dude could hit HRs too. He was in the top 5 in HRs in AA before he moved up to AAA. He was on the SD Padre farm system for many years then he was traded to NY. I won't say his name so don't ask. He's good friends with Dave Riske (middle relief pitcher) of the Cleveland Indians. Riske is from my home town up here in the Seattle area.

Favre was juicing?? I am not sold on QB's needing to juice to be competitive. Anyway, maybe Palmeiro will claim that the GNC Glutamine he was taking is what made him fail the test! There was a player that failed earlier this year that said exactly that. The good old "blame it on GNC" line. Yeah, I am sure GNC is pumping roids into their GLUTAMINE. For crap's sake. concseco is saying conspiracy, but not too many people are taking it seriously.. i think he might have taken winny for the shorter ester thinking mabey he could be safer from the testing..

i just can't imagine the circus that's going to be rafeal palmero the next few days..

these guys dont mistake taking something thinking the ester is short so the detection time is too. they are shot up by doctors most of the time.. they know the deal they just roll the dice on getting tested..
