i was told that you have to chew them up instead of just swallowing them is there any truth to this

yes chew them up.
they are packed really tight to survive shipping, if you dont chew them up you will shit the tablet out whole.

Yep....chew all his orals.....direct from the manufacturer. If not...they will pass unabsorbed.
