I read 'capping' threads. Why cap instead of plastic capsules?

Why is it necessary to create tablets, as opposed to putting powder (namely Var) into plastic capsules? Please explain.

cap = capsule People who "cap" their own use capsules. A tablet press can be very difficult to come by.

Var powder can be weighed and mixed with some other filler and then put in capslules with a capsule filling device. I can think of two off hand. "The Capsule Machine" & another which I believe is called "Cap em Quick"

Suspending powder is the making of liquid orals. The powder is "suspended" I believe in everclear or peg for example. I don't know the recipies for making liquid orals having never done it.
