Legal in USA to buy syringes and needles?
I have been reading about legislation that promote clean needle usage. This is to prevent HIV spreading and other public health problems. So can you buy them without a perscrition legally, or is it considered drug periphenalia and contraband in the US?

every state has their own legislation. and in certain cases it can be considered drug paraphenalia.
like im on probation, when my PO searched my house and found some p inz he said i needed a script for that, but i told him OHIO law says i dont cause, but in my case it is considered drug paraphenalia without a script

In some states yes, there's no blanket law on syringes that cover the USA, they go state by state. Those types of programs aren't the best for us. You need to register as an injecting drug user, which will follow you. Pins are like 0.25 cents a piece, I would put my name on any list to save that little amount of money

So as far as Federal law is concerned it's fine to possess and buy without perscritiion, but State laws may classify as paraphenalia?
Would discovery of needles/syringes give authorites probable cause to search?

Don't forget that trace amounts of gear in used syringes can, in many states, get you in trouble.

If they disovered pins, they would probly already be searching you. I hope people aren't just leaving them lying in the front seat of their cars.
