Help! My test level is 395 NG/DL...Advice?
I just got my lab results back today and my testosterone levels sucked, my total test count was 395 NG/DL. What makes matters worse is I’m only 26 years old. I haven’t taken any AAS for going on four years now. After my last cycle (some 4 years ago) I developed gyno, which I had surgically removed. Developing gyno despite taking HCG and Clomid scared me off AAS. I went to the doctor because as of recent I’ve experienced decreased sex drive, depression, and a general lack of energy. My physician won’t prescribe TRT because of my age. I’m in my last year of college and I don’t have insurance; hence I can’t afford to go an anti-aging clinic and see a specialist at the present time.
My question for the experienced users is: should I self medicate at 200mg of Testosterone Enanthate until I can afford to see a specialist? Will I be doing more harm than good? I know there are ways to raise testosterone naturally, but I’m 26 and 395 would need more than a little bump wouldn’t it? I’m a little worried about starting a lifelong dependency on Testosterone, but low test sucks especially for a bodybuilder. I’m sure my prior use of AAS played a major role in creating my condition.
This is my first post on the board (sorry so long guys). PLEASE provide me with any recommendations you have for me!Last edited by codexp03; 08-16-2005 at 12:16 PM.

Can you afford more blood tests? If the answer is no, would not recommend self-medicating.

Not until February. The lab is 595 dollars, I'm paying out of state tuition right now it's, out of reach.

395ng really isnt that bad, at least not bad enough to start HRT. Everybodies genetics are different, you may have been around 400ng before you ever touched anything!

My level before my first cycle was 1160 NG/DL that was taken shortly before my 20th birthday which may explain why it was so high. My levels dipped to as low as 120 NG/DL post cycle when I developed gyno. 1 year after my last cycle (3 years ago) I was at 300 NG/DL. Last months results were 395 NG/DL (a full 4 years since I've done anything). The doctor told me he'd like to see me at least at 500 NG/DL but, closer to 600. My receptors must have had a high binding affinity because, I always got amazing gains and terrible sides (in terms of ance and water retention) even from doses as low as 200mg/week.

Some people may laugh at this, however, I will still make my suggestion:
TRIBEX and TRIBESTAN.
I would put my LIFE on it--give it a try, have your bloodwork done again. I am positive Tribex or Tribestan will HELP.
Also, an herb called Eurycoma Longfolia (tongkat Ali) drastically increases FREE test, by binding rapidly to SHBG.
The synergistic effect should definitely elevate your T-levels to the 6-700 range....Id be willing to bet money.

Just curious, has anyone tested hormone levels before and after cycle? I searched and only found a couple people who test for testosterone and other hormones before and after.
Permanent hypogonadism scares the sh*t out of me. What are the chances of testosterone not returning to normal (with prper precautions and pct)???????

Isn't the "normal range" something like 200-1100? 395 would seem to be fine for normal sex drive, etc... Maybe the symptoms you are experiencing are not related to test level. You mentioned you are finishing up your education, etc... could be that you are under a little stress and that is sapping you of your sex drive, energy and the like.

395ng isnt bad, and yes stress can play a huge role in lowering test levels. Also, test can drop dramatically in some by age 25. But...there is still possibility that AS caused this drop. Anyone else moniter testosterone levels b4 and after???

I was just tested and am at 295. Before my Endo would do anything in the way of HRT he is having me lose weight (10 lbs). His explanation is being overweight affects your test levels due to fat cells aromatizing test to estrogen. Well I've lost the weight but still feel lousy (same). I have an apt. early sept to get my blood work done again. Then discuss my options. he also said that stress can have a profound effect and also the time of day the blood test was taken. he suggests having many blodd test over the course of a few weeks.
By the way I'm 32 done very conservative cycles and always did proper PCT.
I'm about 15 - 18% BF so losing the 10 lbs wasn't that tough for me.

codex: get that pm? goodluck try 4-6 weeks on clomid if all else fails. 2weeks at 100mg and 2 week at 50
pay for your own bloodwork online and buy your own gear.. much cheaper than the clinic. just my 2cents.
