I like to inject medial glute. It is much easier for me to reach than gluteus maximus and I can use a 1" pin too.
I stand up when I do it, turn my torso a lil and stick it right in near the top outside area, really easy to still see the needle and super easy to slide in. I use 1.5 inch pins but shouldnt be a prob with 1.

Its not hard at all. The best place to inject is the outer and top of the buttocks. Usually 1.5'' needles are perferred, but 1'' will definently work. The glutes is a better place to injection than the quads actually. Good luck
I just started hitting the glutes last week. It's a little akward, but I found that standing in front of a mirror helps.
want a tip? don't break the pin off...then you'll have problems...
