Cup of black coffee before workout, good or bad?
For me, bad-If you are very caffeine tolerant or dependant then no biggie IMO.
Caffeine before workout is very effective. I take it in the form of pills instead of coffee.
java seems to give me a good kick, but i usually dont drink it though
It helps some people more than others. It is more useful during a cutting phase when you are carb depleted and for that added fat burning benefit of caffeine. At other times it is unnecessary. Remember it is a drug, so use it sparingly.
I think coffee is fine not a bad idea on a day when your tired from work or need a pick me up.
I have a cup of black coffee before i hit the gym. I need it!
i do it and if i dont get a chance to make a cup i drink something at the gym stacked with caff. supposedly its supposed to be the best thing to do pre workout
i usually drink a cup of tea with two aspirins does wonders.
I always have coffee with my egg whites before the gym...and so does Jay Cutler!!! hehehe
Id say give it a try, nothing to loose! Just dont become dependant on it .
Caffeine in some form is good. It improves your intensity. I personally can't drink coffee cause I get too amped and am burping coffee for the whole workout, but when I am dragging tail, I drink a "speed stack" or a similar energy drink.Quote:

But...if you don't need it...your better off without...
I use it sometimes, well...more than i like...
I usually throw down a ecy stack 1/2-1 hour before my workout.
Bad for me, I get weaker. I can't do as many reps as if I don't drink coffee before workout.
It feels like my energy goes to waste in between the sets.
i switch between coffee & aspirine always b4 gym but i prefere coffee it helps me during workout

Coffee before workout: good.
Make sure to drink water during your work-out, as coffee is also a diuretic (ie: it sucks water out of your system and makes you piss it out.)

Will help your workout. But remember after the caffiene wears out, which is quick for me, you will feel more sluggish.
True, after it wears off you feel more sluggish...
If you supplement any caffeine products, your tolerance will go up to caffeine effect, making your ECA stack a little less effective during your cutting... But thats if you consistently drink it up to the point when you begin your cutting.
Question for research people... Have any studies been done to prove caffeine is beneficial? Other than its effect to burn more cals...?
i never heard of that before a workout...what are the benefits of thatQuote:
