    Resting heart rate

I just got back from test my BP and HR at the local pharmacy.
My bp was 125/75 which was withing the normal range according to the machine, but my resting heart rate was 96 beats per min.

I'm just wondering if that's too high and should I up my cardio to lower it?

I watched an intereview with lance armstrong. He claims his resting heart rate is 30 BPM. Not that yours should be any near that. 96 does sound high though. I'd check it again just to be sure.

96 BPM?? That does sound high...mine is from 60. I also heard the Lance Armstrong thing but I believe he also has a larger than normal heart for his size.

I was just thinking about something....i did walk about a mile to get to the pharmacy with sweatpants & shirt on....so i'm guessing that would make it inaccurate

Best time to check your heart rate, from what I understand, is first thing after you wake up in the morning. That's supposed to be your true "resting heart rate", unaffected by anything else.

Being on gear or overtraining can elevate your heart rate, among a lot of other things.
