Just wondering what method you use when you inject. Do you press against the skin and then insert slowly, or do you make entry with a quick jab?

Nice and slow, i like to know if anythings in the way, totally painless.
yeah, nice and slow so i know if anything goes wrong
I used to do it nice and slow as well. Ive found it much better to do it fast.
i go thru the skin quickly then thru muscle slow..
slow & steady for me
i like the slow mrthod
If you are new and have never done it yet, It is MUCH easier to talk yourself into injecting slow vs. darting yourself. I always inject slow.
Agreed. Faster is the way to go. That is why people in the medical profession do it this way.Quote:

Quick with one motion, like throwing a dart. then when halfway in i proceed to push in a little slower.
Slow and steady for me. Wouldn't want to inject fast and hit a nerve.
I have to agree hitting a nerve would not be fun. So i go the slow routeQuote:

sloooow for me..
a hot shower first........then slow and steady.......my wife does it for me......gotta love her
slow, why go fast and risk jamming the pin right into a nerve... i mean the pain from the intial injection is typically nothing compared to how sore the muscle is the next day
I can tell you how I do it to other people at work, and its fast. I am not talking about going pulp fiction on the IM site, but its more painful to do it slow. Know where you are putting it and you shouldn’t be hitting anything anyways. Now, with that said I have yet to do it to myself yet, so I have no idea what its going to be like when I have to talk myself into it. Know your landmarks and go for it.
for me- the slower the better
Fast or slow doesn't matter to me...warm the juice in teh syringe under hot water...push a little out on the needle for lube...inject slow. One thing I don't care for is stretching the skin because if I let go; it seems to make the needle bend and I can feel it in my muscle...(not very comfy and makes me sweat). Straight in...straight out.
I go fast and have never hit a nerve. Im not sore after or the next day. Like I said in an earlier post, nurses also do it this way.Quote:

Ok this post jinks me i have had 2 injections since this started and both i had to pull back and go sideways more to miss a Nerve-- or something that started hurting
slow...less pain.
Slow here.
Slow and easy
I go slow, but if something dont feel right, I pull it out fast as hell!!
Nice and slow:7up:
Fast jab for glutes and quads, slow for delts.
I pierce the skin quickly (first 1/8th" or so) and then gently glide the pin in the rest of the way.
For me it's like sex, once I get the tip in I hammer it home.
