    need a doc's help...

HI guys...girls, any doctors out here that could tell me if steroid use can cause PAC's?
I have been having irregular heart beats, went into emerg as I am new in this City and dont have a doctor yet.
got checked out and they told me it was pac's caused by stress, caffiene, alcohol, drugs etc.... I didnt tell them I was on test but maybe should have.
    thanks

It is not uncommon to experience heart "flutters" while on test or other AAS. For some people this becomes a major issue and they cannot continue use.

I wouldn't have told them either, Not a great thing to have on your medical record. I'd suggest you stop using rec drug and drinking while on cycle. Like the Oldman said, not a smart move.

I don't think he was saying he was using rec drugs or drinking only that those were some of the things the doctor said could contribute to the problem.

hmm... get a second opinion by a specialist then. I'd do this asap before the problem gets worse.

Ok I have to address this. I guess it's better to end up with a potential health disaster then tell the doctor the truth as it might be on your records.

I have health insurance. I also see a cardiologist every 6 months as my family has a history of dying prior to the age of 50 from 1st heart attacks. So both my family doctor and my cardiologist who i see agian 12/1/05 know I do gear. I keep saying gear is not a game and if your not ready to lay your cards on the table, don't fxxking do them.

Note I have had the same insurance for 11 years and they all know when i'm on gear cause I tell them. This coming Thurs i will inform my cardiologist that I'm on a current cycle and how much.
One more thing and this was the reply from both. If you not going to stop doing them then make sure you use human grade not animal grade anabolics. Now that is the truth. I'm not sure but think they don't know there the same shitttttt

Please don't drink and take gear. I remember reading a post once on this site where an idiot actually said...

"Nah, drinking's not good on roids, that's why I just smoke weed on test, it's a lot safer anyways."

If anyone finds that post, please put that in the hall of shame, as well as the guy who got his ass kicked because he thought that sust made him tough so he tried to fight 4 men robbing his car, lol.

Do you know excactly what these "flutters" are, what causes them and if they're ultimately "bad" signs? I get these all the time along with a little pain in the heart region especially when on ephedra. Sorry to hijack the post, but I'm intrigued that other people experience this as well.

Palpitations-sensations of a rapid or irregular heartbeat-are most often caused by cardiac arrhythmias or anxiety. Most patients with arrhythmias do not complain of palpitations. However, any arrhythmia, including sinus tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, premature ventricular contractions, or ventricular tachycardia, can cause palpitations. Palpitations should be considered as potentially more serious if they are associated with dizziness, near-syncope, or syncope. Nonarrhythmic cardiac problems, such as mitral valve prolapse, pericarditis, and congestive heart failure, and noncardiac problems, such as hyperthyroidism, vasovagal syncope, and hypoglycemia, can cause palpitations. Palpitations also can result from stimulant drugs, and over-the-counter and prescription medications. No cause for the palpitations can be found in up to 16 percent of patients. Ambulatory electrocardiographic (ECG) monitoring usually is indicated if the etiology of palpitations cannot be determined from the patient's history, physical examination, and resting ECG. When palpitations occur unpredictably or do not occur daily, an initial two-week course of continuous closed-loop event recording is indicated. Holter monitoring for 24 to 48 hours may be appropriate in patients with daily palpitations. Trans-telephonic event monitors are more effective and cost-effective than Holter monitors for most patients.

Here is a brief study on heart palps for various reasons. I think in this case the androgens work as a stimulant to cause flutters although I am not positive of that. I think the key is making sure that these Palpitations are not caused from heart disease. I think they are potentially dangerous for those who experience frequent episodes. In your case with chest pains I would probably see a cardiologist just to make sure.

Rickson, thanks a lot. I actually thought I was having a heart attack a few months ago and I brought myself to the emergency room. They hooked me up to a EKG? machine and utimately told me I was having an anxiety attack. Ever since then I've been paranoid as hell. I do get a bit dizzy with ephedra - I'm going to see a doc.

    Thanks again.

this is a great thread and Rickson's response is one that is very helpful - thanks. i started test prop yesterday and last night while at work the palpitations started and lasted for a couple hours. now - i only did one shot and it was only with 50mgs as i wanted to start very slowly - do to the fact that ive had some anxiety caused palpitations in the past and wanted to avoid them at all costs. i didnt do my 2nd shot today as i planned as i still feel a bit lightheaded at x and the palpitations are still there - albeit no where near the extreme of last night. im not hi-jacking this thread - just chiming in as to what happened to me in conjunction with your post. i think i will have to see a cardiologist asap to see about this issue as u can mess up your liver and some other organs over time and thats bad enough - but messing with your heart is a potentially fatal issue and that is not good.

tough old man - im with you on this big time

thanks rickson, you are the only one that understood my post...I am NOT on any drugs or alcohol as dumbass thought... they are the possible causes as well as stress... I guess he missed that part!
the pacs Im having are not dnagerous according to the doctor and wether they are triggered by the test is only a guess.
I do drink coffee so will cut tha out and see how it goes, also going through a fair bit of stress with personaly things....women! lol
I just moved here recently and as I said dont have a good doctor.
back in Ontario I had an awesome doc. that I could and did tell everything.
Im sure he was on a cycle or two himself and know his shit.
    thanks again for the help.

Our mistake about the alcohol and drugs. Won't bother giving advice next time you post, but your first post was brief and non-descriptive.

Not to mention it's a double post.

    ok I will try...

ok I will try to clear this up, maybe I didnt spell it out right...
the doctor said that pacs can be caused by, caffiene, drug use and alcohol use, one of or all of, as well as stress....I didnt say I was using any drugs or drinking during my cycke or before....
so to start over...Im NOT on ANY drugs, nor have I used any....
this is my fourth cycle, using the same gear as the last one and after 8 weeks I am having these irregular beats...p.a.c's
my post was to a DOCTOR, so far NONE of you have mention your a doc. or pm'd me with any real help.
sorry to be a bit harsh but this board is supposed to be for help, not just people with idle time jumping in on a post with they're 2 cents.

Once again, we apologize. I'd go get a second opinion from another doctor and have the proper test run, seeing that none of us are MD's that's all we can really tell you. Goodluck.

Here's a MDs take on it: most often the fluttering is premature atrial contractions (PACs), most often caused by electrolyte imbalance, usual culprit is hypokalemia (low potassium), but can be Na+, Ca+, or phos. With gear, fluid retention and shifts are very common and the lytes are often whacked out as well. Diuretics are also big cause of low K+. Beware of ephedra, clen ,etc, as they are B2-agonists and have direct stimulatory effects on the heart and can be pro-arrythmagenic (sort of like adren**** does). Alcohol is a diuretic, and can exacerbate this effect....and God forbid, coke or amphetamines on top of this =death (Don't Do It!!) Other than that, eat your bannanas and take your multi ED. If it persists, go see your doc and get an EKG and chemistry panel drawn. Just $.02. Peace.

    Great Work!
I just don't get it when people ask the same question again hoping to get a different response.
No offense panzer - but I think you know you should see a doctor.
And Johnny B is right - my doctor doesn't put any "off the record" stuff on my sheets - I ask to review them from time to time.
