How?Where do you throw away your old pins?

Mine have started to pile up.
Any tips on throwing them away and where?

I store them in a protein tub.When it's full,I bring it to a hospital so it's disposed of in a very safe manner.

Auction them on ebay!

Don't worry, I'm just joking. I'd put them in a small box, tape it up and toss it in a dumpster somewhere.

No...I walk in to the emergency room and tell them I found this along side a road and could they dispose of it.

i throw them in an empty protien container as well, but i just toss it in the dumpster.. what is so unsafe about that?

I wait until I have 20 oins. I then drive around and look for the guys standing on the corners with those signs that say will work for food. I give them to those guys and I'm sure they sell them to the junky's for a small profit. LOL. I live in baja and we burn our trash, so I put them in the fire and there gone.

I collect in a Protein container and when it is half full I spray that expanding insulation foam in it and then tap it up and trash it.. Even if it is found they are useless.

I thought about bringing to the hospital but I thought it would be a hassle.

I am a type 1 diabetic and for years I have just put them in a empty laundry detergent bottle and discard the whole thing when full. Dr. recomended.

Go to a pharmacy and ask for a sharps container... cost you about 10bucks when it is full take it back(if they let you in the area) or to the hospital. Who cares how they look at you...

Oops, another tip is take the pins off and only put them in the container. Throw the syringe away. One sharps container will last a year or two, less with if slin pins are in the equation.

thats what i was thinking but i was thinking the school playground at some gas stations have containers for diabetics to dump their needles in the bathroom just a thought

This is my method, although I use liquid nails to keep the top on instead of tape. Won't get that baby off!!!

i just put the plastic covers back on the pin and store them in whatever container. then just throw them away.

Same here. Milk jugs, protein jugs, also I put all caps back on the needle for even more saftey.

I know some diabetics and they only put they cut the needle off the slin pin and put that in biohazard container and just throw the syringe in the trash can.

As for going to the hospital to dispose them, are u guys serious? That just seems like mission. props to u guys for taking the extra safety precaution, i guess.

i put mine in a empty protein jug, fill with foam insulation,when full. then discard in trash can. good method, but not the best. sharps container, then to hospital or ambulance crew the best. be responsible with your bio-hazards..........good luck

where i live there's a clinic you can bring your used needles to and they will give you new ones for free. i haven't done it before though.

Yeah thats what i do, if they are legal to buy in your area, they are legal to throw away where you got them. Sharps container work for me. Good Luck bro.
