AAS and antidepressants ?

I would like to know more about using antidepressants and AAS at the same time.

I would like to know what the effects are on the body,
and would also like to hear from people's experiences.

AAS can cause depression (if you don't have it already).
Now, I am talking about a case where you already have it. (not from AAS)

Any good info would be greatly appreciated.

Many old timers won't cycle with out them. I know alot of guys who run them just with there pct.

Most SSRIs take 10 to 14 days before the effects are felt. MAOs take even longer.

There's no sweeping generalization to make about steroids and depression. Some steroids are more androgenic and some (e.g., vet drugs) tend to be more anabolic . The steroids that are more anabolic (vs. androgenic) impact your mood considerably less. It has been suggested elsewhere that primobolan probably has the least impact upon mood. I take 10 mgs of lexipro and I use superdrol, and I can tell you that I don't feel as good mood wise and I'm generally fatigued. I may have a better experience during my up coming cutting cylce with one of the vet drugs....at least, that's what I'm hoping. Anyway, a doctor told me that certain steroids may amplify the anti-depressant (when you are on the AAS).

Ive got something to ask also on this subject when i got back from Iraq i was diagnosed with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and my doctors have put me on a anti_depressant and anti anxiety medication and I havent done a cycle since I've been back will this affect at all. Any info please guys? By the way great post man I didnt even think about it until I read this post.

a lot of good info.

I am on Zoloft - 100mg/day.
started a month ago. first 2 weeks - 50mg/day. then 100mg/day. I know it's a high dose to start with but i am one of those pople that don't respond much to lower doses. I like it so far. no sides yet.

i was on lexapro before(for a year and a half - 20mg/day) but it made me feel tired all the time. it sucked. i think the sides were as bad as my depression and anxiety without the medication. After I stoped taking it, i couldn't belive how much more energy i had.

BTW I tried St.John's Wort. you know, the natural cure for depression.
and it didn't work. it's all B.S.

no i don't get the jitters. but i do have sleeping problems.
but that's with or without the medication. if i am on it i get insomnia from it. when i am not on it i get insomnial from the depression - wich is common.
it's a f'ed up situation. luckly sleeping pills help me alot.

yeah, i started about 2 weeks before the end of my cycle.

They put me on zoloft for depression and clonazepam for anti-anxiety as soon as I got back in the states.

great info guys...

Geodogg...I think this is one of those topics where everyone is affected differently. some people are prone to side effects like acne, hair loss...some people are prone to the mental side of things. i think the time you have to worry about most is coming off cycle. if you do things properly, base your cycle with enough test, etc..you should feel great on cycle. but you have to mentally prepared to come off. the anti-depressants can help a lot at that point IMO

i take 100 mg of my zoloft all at once first thing in the morning upon awakening along with my clonazepam 1 mg tab three times a day

Really? Is that the way your doc told you to take it? I've always heard take it just before bed as it can help you sleep. Call up your doc and ask him about it.

my doc. said it doesn't matter when you take it as long as you take it the same time every day. however some people(but not all) feel tired all day if they take it in the morning. so for those people it is recomended to take it before bed.
i am one of those people. i feel messed up if i take it in the morning or during the day. would never do it again.

but isn't zoloft working for both? (depression and anxiety)?
why would you take clonazepam?

i am asking cause i have both too.

clonazepam actually focuses more toward anxiety only zoloft really isnt for anxiety its just for depression also clon is for like high b/p and such it also helps me to sleep
