I like to give my musles atleast 5 days to rest and grow before I attack them again. ;)

I'll do everything twice a week for the most part especially chest and legs!
one time a week here...Find that if I do it more then that..i start to over train soon after.

Twice a week, Day 1 chest&tri, day 2 back & bi's, day 3 legs & shoulders, day 4,5,6, same as 1,2,3, rest day 7, start over with day one. I used to do one body part per week, but I have better results this way.
train 3 days per week(very occasional 4 days) and each body part 1x per week
i train 4 or 5 days per week 1 x each part, mon tues, thu fri thats it max

i'd think you might need to cut back sick1 or you might overtrain!
I hit every muscle 1 a week on a basic big 3 program
Yeah, i just work out 5 days a week, 1 bodypart a week. I do my bi's twice though, monday chest bi's. and then friday, just my bi's alone.
Growth = Good Nutrition + Hard Work + Sufficient rest, so it's once per week for me.
yea but the one muscle I work 3 times a day is the one my wife loves :lol: ........so I work it to death.

All joking aside I do a 72 hour rest between muscles. Somtimes I will do 2 a days. Work the muscle in the AM and then come back and work it in the PM. Then give it 72 hour break.

Once a week normally, but right now calves twice a week which seems to be working. Gotta know what your body best responds to. Trial and error is the best way to learn.
I would call mine 1.5 times per week, since I use a 4 split, four on/one off. This gives me like 4 days between workouts per bodypart.
I personnlly have always trained tweice a week. Especially larger muscle groups.

I usually only work each muscle once a week.... except when I'm on gear. If I do more than 400-500mg/w test, I can easily hit each muscle twice a week and grow well.
I do upper one day, lower the next
Ive tried working it once a week but for me just isnt working, maybe its because im not in shape yet, still dropping fat.

In high school we did upper body on M and W, and lower body on T and Th. I used this method for 4 years and hit a plateau. Then I switched to one body part per week and have made solid gains.
3 times every 2 weeks...so I guess that's 1.5 per week

I don't understand how some of you guys think the more you work a muscle, the more it will grow. Nothing is further from the truth.
i agree with gettin stupid and besides where the hell do you find the time to train that often(full workouts).
One a week for me except abs and calves twice . My legs usually still hurt 3 days latter. I read one time that the muscle groups should or could be done as stated below
Legs every 7 days
back every 5 days
chest every 4 days
arms every 2 days
abs and calves every other day
i dont consider it overtraining...it works for me...ive been lifting for about 6 years on and off and have been hella stronger then i looked...but thas what i wanted...now i want to bulk up and i still do the same routine, and so far all is well!!

I do the same exact workout as bigreb and get great results. I think it really depends on your body.
each muscle once a week, work out five days a week, rest sat and sun always.
