Dude, funny you said that. I drank last night, sat around most of the day and had to MAKE myself goto the gym feeling like crap. I cranked out more weight than ever for my back excercises. 6 plates on the fucking hammer strength pulldown, WTF (for me thats ALOT)! I kept going and basically made myself leave after shredding my back.
I did load WAY up on the carbs before going and ASAP after. I've been doing that now, wasn't before because I was cutting.
Thats the 3rd time going to the gym feeling like total shit that I've had a killer workout. Wierd.

Bottoms up!!!! lol jk
You filled your muscle cells with a lot of sodium and carbs, so when you woke up glycogen levels were full to the brim. That in addition of a med-high glycemic smoothie is a definite factor in your awesome workout. That and the brew-ha you slammed last night...
Good job bro. Watch out for that many carbs before bed, and smoothies...just saying that makes my abs twinge.

Do you think a smoothie like a juice stop smoothie is good before a work out? I know it is loaded with simple carbs.. would that be a good way to fire up for the gym? I dont seem to get that kind of enegery from complex carbs..

I drink like 100G of malto-dextrose pre and post WO now. Seems to seriously increase my endurance at the gym.

wow. That's a lot of sugar. I mean, I guess if it's working, keep doing it. but make sure to watch the waist line. Unless you're bulking Lee Priest style...then tell me and this post will be deleted.
