    AA-17 question

    Does anyone have any clue as to whether or not this compound has any effects itself on the body as a negetive or is it just the agents carried by this component .... ?

    17aa is not a "compound" per se......tricky answer really - but steroids that have been structurally changed molecularly to become active when taken orally are, in the end, 17aa's - it is that molecular change that makes them hepatically toxic - so yes if it is a 17aa it is harsh on your liver - that goes for things outside of juice as well - does that answer your question or did I confuse you more?

    Yeh to some degree Mike ... So whatever agent , this molecular change to AA-17 is what makes it more toxic than if the compound was left alone to travel thru unchanged ?

    EXACTLY - it is the process of molecularly changing a compound to become active orally that makes it a 17aa and thus heptically toxic

    Quite simply put...Most injectables make one pass through the liver...17AA's make several passes thus becoming harsh on the liver....

    Ranger is right - I guess probably easier to understand too

    here's a little background:

    Naturally-occuring anabolic steroids are synthesised in the testis, ovary and adrenal gland from cholesterol via pregnenolone. Synthetic anabolic steroids are based on the principal male hormone testosterone , modified in one of three ways:

    alkylation of the 17-carbon
    esterification of the 17-OH group
    modification of the steroid nucleus

    Oral steroids being examples of the first of those three routes. The substitution of that 17-alpha carbon is what makes these steroids toxic to the liver. This makes these steroids pass through the liver multiple times. As Ranger said.
