    preventing atrophy after surgery

i just had my gyno surgery done and the doc says no lifting for 4 weeks from dec. 13. he did say that i could start riding a stationary bike on friday of this week (dec. 20). 4 weeks is a long time and i want to lose as little muscle as possible. im going to be riding the bike probably every day and will probably be getting some glutamine. any other suggestions?

Keep the protein intake high. A break from the gym for a short period of time every now and then does the body good. I don't think you will lose that much size unless you start doing a TON of cardio or something.

Ya, don't over do that cardio or you will wither away. Maybe do it 4-5 times a week for 15-20 min of mild-moderate pace. Don't want to lose more muscle than you have to. How much was the surgery and altho it probably is a little swollen, how doesit look?
