HCG weight loss for women

So my girlfriend tells me about some lady that her mom knows who went to a clinic where they put her on a weight loss regimen which involved injecting HCG /Vitamin B12 and a strict diet. The lady claims to have lost about 50 lbs in a month, which I'm assuming is BS.

What I'm wondering is the HCG weight loss thing legit, or another scam?

I looked around google and either found web pages for clinics selling their program as the best thing ever, or people saying its a complete scam. I couldn't find anything that didn't seem unbiased.

Any one have any input on this?

No it is legit, saw a ladys blog on youtube of using it. From what I know about HCG its produced by women when theyre pregnant to start to use excess cals and fat for the child, well if you take it when you arent pregnant you get the same effect.
