    Spotting fakes

Are there any books out that will help me identify fakes? I realize I can post my gear in the picture forum but those guys have to get their info. from somewhere. Or is it just a matter of keeping up with the current market and others experiences with certain products?

fakes are usually obvious anyways. What i used to do when i was new to everything i would actually taste gear to make sure it was real. If you have a good reliable source, and you use some common sense, you should have no problems with fakes
