Help!! Customs got my Package! Got a lengthy letter today.

I got a letter today from customs saying they have seized my package, under the provisions of title 19USC1595a{c}{1}{B}
On the third page of the ones stapled together it says -
In addition to the seizure(s) and forfeiture liability, a civil penalty has been, or will be assessed in this matter. Details on the civil penalty are:
in the attached letter; or
being prepared and will be mailed shortly.- NOT IN THIS ENVELOPE. - I guess it is on the way.
There are 2 pages with choices to fill out. One is for a petition, the other is ( Hold Harmless Release Agreement ) Which says I release the property.

What do I do? Am I in deep shit now? One package made it through, and it was the Deca . The bigger problem is I have more on the way, but from a new source, and diff country. Will they be watching my mail now? What happens if they seize another package?

I have tried to scan, and post a pic of the letter, but it keeps telling me it is to big. Maybe you can help Pytbjason???

no worries but from now on after you get this one you need to change your receipt addy. Also clean house till thisone goes through ok - you dont want them trying a controlled delivery when you have stuff in your house.

I concur with atwa - do not sign or send a release for the ackage. That would be an acknowledgment that you ordered it in the first place (in other words, an admission of guilt). Just disregard the letter - and do temporarily "clean house."

When you scan the letter try saving at as jpeg file, since those file types are not as large

just throw the letter out, but not in YOUR trash and forget it happened.i had the same shit.don't write back, do say shit, just forget about it.if you order internationally your name will prob come up in the database as having has seized property.i talk to someone in the know and they told me about the red flag thing on your name showing up w/ you order internationally again.i order international magazines all the time and i'm not worried.just write it off as a loss and don't respond to them

One of my bro's said a P.O. Box would be the best thing to use, one from like Mailboxes Etc. or something of the sort. Does anyone know what you have to provide them in order to get a P.O. Box though? Hopefully not a Drivers License or anything that can proove who you say you are

PO Box is gold. You dont have to show your ID and put it under any name. Reason is, it's protected under U.S. privacy act.

That would be way too much manpower wasted in a sting like that, they don't know when the person would be going to pick up the gear so they would have to have someone posted watching that particular box everyday till he did pick it up... but then again cops don't have anything else to do anyways

I tend to agree with G Child. They surely have bigger fish to fry. Just wondering if anyone had heard any horror stories. I've had one package from Mexico - no problems. However, I do think the P.O. Box sounds like a winner for next time.

Never had a PO Box myself and was wondering what king of info you have to give them when you get one? Do you have to give them any info they could track it back to you or can you use fake info?

ACTUALLY.....if you go to the post offices..you DO have to show an ID....and proof of adress as they send a letter to your adress....if you receive it yyou thhen go int othe post office wih the letter and they give you your PO box then...

Im not too positive about mail box's ect...dunno about the ID thing there...

that the mailbox etc's were getting busted here when the crash first happened.so that info on you can't be too secure.they were staking out boxes and just waiting for peope to come pick up their shit.i have no doubt that if they scanned your shit for illegal shit,they would call the locals and catch you right at the box.believe me i know guys who have po's but i wouldn't even chance it in these times.it's just my opinion, means nothing, but i hate to see one of you guys get busted
